Revolution Logo/s, looking VERY nice!

The font is the best bit thou. i can imagine the 'R' being like mercury, looks much better than any other nintendo logo.

Btw.. thanx for the welcome in another thread nin10do, been visiting for ages but never got round to joining till now.. am i the only one who's cant help but look at those jiggly boobs everytime i see a post from nin10do?

Not that I care much for logo's anyway, so this pants logo for Ninty's next machine won't dampen my excitement for it. I still look forward to the Revolution, even if it has an ugly logo. And '10do, that logo must have been the only console logo you've ever seen if it's "the greatest logo ever made". What about the Dreamcast logo? Surely that has to be the greatest logo EVER. It was simplistic, yet very elegant. That big blob shaped like an R is just a mess.

It makes me laugh, your immediate enthusiasm for anything Nintendo related. At all. "Look at the font! Simply the best font used ever in anything!!" Sure it's a nice font. It doesn't give me joygasms though...

I don't like the R, looks too kiddy. Like something my nephew has screwled in crayon. The rest of it (your beloved font, '10do) looks cool, though. What with the DS being viewed as a children's machine (it is, I know from being heckled at college for having one), I'm willing to bet that the Revo will be put in the same bracket. Not that any of that will matter to us hardcore gamers

As for the logo, noticing shagster online, hope he has a comment - guys quite a graphicy type dude.

Seriously though his is pretty cool, nice simple and expands the WiFi connectivity. Yours is pretty swish as well, but as a logo it's too busy - what it would be better for is say a loading page for Nintendo's revolution site - or something similar.

Shove a mercury R in and it'd make an awesome mag advert *winks*

I agree that it looks a little kiddy, thats Nintendo for ya. I still dont get what made the DS so kiddish though? Its kinda hard to work with the touch screen if your a little kid that doesnt know his own strength.

Craigs suggests a dual screen, which is already confirmed that the Rev will not have (thank god). I still like it.
I like GR's one, but it feels kind of empty on the right side. I agree with Nin10do that it would work better as a loading page, dont know about the advert though.

It would be perfect for advert, just remove the stars and replace the world with images from a game that is advertised and you're set to go!
I guess the double screen controller was kind of dismissed but it is leaning towards Wi-Fi connectivity.

Wasn't suggesting there was harshness or anything, just the jestful jabs etc - you know the usual comments toward me you love making to rile me up and I love getting riled up about - that and the false quoting of me can easily be taken as a jab Don't worry, I was just having a laugh, not in the mood for the '10do vs Oni, identical debate with identical comments #124435 thang is all. This could turn out to be fake after all this arguing (:lol - someone from IGN's boards is claiming this to be his work, not full proof it's fake (we now how some IGN'ers are), but it probably is.

I'm pretty gutted if this is false, I really like the design, ah well - Gastrian may well get his more "revolutionary" one. I just hope I like it more

It isn't so don't worry, and the facts clearly prove this to be the case - Oni having a few mates that think its kiddie doesn't make it so, neither does me having a bunch of mates (in their mid 20's) at Uni that think it's not.

What does define the system is the userbase - and 59% of them are 19+ which clearly tells us the DS is not "kiddie".

It they're going to call it that, the console should be round

Those people who I told you about, they sure aren't 'mates' of mine! And there wasn't a few of them, it was practcally every idiot who walked past me while I was in the canteen. They were like "Heh, what you doing with that piece of crap? Look at it with the pen, it's so gay. I would've waited for the PSP, mate." then walk off laughing. I was playing Wario Ware at the time. Not even my DS, I just borrowed my sister's for the day. Hmm, I'm predicting a whole college worth of youths playing and comparing their PSP's come September. Can't wait ...

That certainly sounds pretty crap Oni, you could apply that and reverse everything for the DS at my Uni thankfully - it's viewed as a very cool thing for us to have just now. It's actually pretty cool, you can walk about various places in Dundee and get quite a bit of excited/interested reactions on the system

Thats whats surprised me about this potential one; it had nothing to do with the machine itself; nintendo have for some time now always, if there was a logo, had a logo that says something about the machine, e.g.the n64 "its 3d", the gamecube .. well a G, and its cube shaped, the DS has the two squares- etc etc. This one says nothing. I'd be willing to bet its not real, just based on the pure number of people who are actually nintendo fans having an averse reaction to it, and because I think that the logo will probably have something to do with its revolutionary aspects, hence why we havent seen one yet.

Actually that's all very good points, when I think about it.

I still really like it as a logo, but hey if we get a better and more revolutionary one that can't be a bad thing. 2 days and around 4 hours till we should find out now

They used that logo (I think it might've been a bit more defined) a lot during the MTV bit, grouped with the words xbox 360. I saw the green circles during the show, but never with the words Xbox 360...although they used it for commercials for the MTV premiere...

I think both are what you'd call "official" as the early game box art has the sphere but the stupid rings logo is also heavily used - which in my bitchy toward MS (:p) opinion is just idiotic.

One of the first rules of branding is not to have two logo's for one product, sure a logo for the company and one for the product is fine and dandy but having two is stupid and confusing - you could argue that it creates potential double penetration but the fact it creates confusion is all to blatant here, amongst "hardcore" gamers.

The eye, and the idea of everything revolving around you in the 360 logo is also subliminal. You don't have to know why the logo is shaped the way it is.

Logo's like that are far, far more effective. For example, IBM's classic (and one I wrote a design essay of over 1000 words on in an exam):
