Nintendo Wii Media | Smash Update: Melee Stages - Part 2

By Jorge Ba-oh 07.01.2008 35

The Smash Updates on the Smash Bros Dojo resume with the sweet inclusion of some of the GameCube's outing's best levels!

There was already an entry detailing how we've brought back some of the stages from Super Smash Bros. Melee...

So here are some more stages that can also be played in Super Smash Bros. Brawl!

Yoshi's Island

The steep slopes on either side are its defining characteristic.

That central platform screams "accident!"

Corneria

Battle atop the Great Fox!

Of course, Arwings come flying in, too.

Onett

The offensive and defensive struggles on the buildings of Onett return!

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Watch out for cars.

Brinstar

It's the dreaded, legendary ocean of acid!

The rising and falling ocean of acid changes the field of play greatly.

Rainbow Ride

Tour the course in this forced scrolling stage.

The boat sinks mid-trip and you embark on a roundabout tour!

This is amazing! Is this a lavish feast or what? I can tell you that for everyone working on this game, the amount of content has been surprising to say the least.

All the stages in N64 and melee would be great! As long as the extra stages do not hinder the amount of new ones in Brawl.

Yeah, I loved Brinstar Depths. I was actually hoping for that one to return, but who knows.

Actually I get to figh 4-on-4 matches on Onett. You heard it! 4-on-4 matches. Have you ever fought against a team of Ice Climbers which seems to be your team as well?

Yep, 4 way Ice Climber matches are awesome (the only time I ever see Smash Bros lag usually, but sometimes it lags on Big Blue)

Although using an Action Replay you can have 6 way Ice Climber matches. i.e. 12 characters on the screen at once. Smilie

Onett is a big...err, I mean great place to do this kind of matches. Also Pok

okay final destination is a must, and i want the original Hyrule Castle from the N64 game. the past stages in melee sucked.

EDIT: as in the "past stages" section at the bottom of the selection screen.

A fail so epic, it may just be a win.

Some more interesting N64 levels would be good. Final Destination should definitely be there... but they've probably made a new version of that anyway...

I concur. Although the number of wacky new levels should make up for its loss should it not turn up.

Yeah Big Blue and Brinstar depths need to be there, I love moving levels. Brawl needs more moving levels, not just moving backgrounds. They are more fun, except noobs hate them.

The iceclimbers stage is too easy to KO people at... im glad its not in this update, it was boring.

i know... man im going to hate the easieness of that stage Smilie

Not if you're fighting people who are very good at it Smilie

A funny side note: Ice Climber are possibly the worst at surviving on their own stage, thanks to their partner based third jump.
