What the hell is it with SE and remakes Smilie

Mike Gee of iZINE said, "...The Verve, as he [Richard Ashcroft] promised, had become the greatest band in the world. Most of the critics agreed with him. Most paid due homage. The Verve were no longer the question mark or the clich. They were the statement and the definition."

They sell, simple as that...we may tire of them, but if people are still buying them then why not? As long as games like Secret of Mana get the remake treatment at some point as well.

But I think first on the agenda are remakes of FFs other than FFIII, ports of FFVII-IX on something like Wii or DS and lots of Dragon Quest remakes/ports/milking...

I wish we'd see old Japan-only games, like Rudra's Treasure, Bahamut Lagoon, Live-a-Live and Treasure Hunter G Smilie

can anyone say SE classics make $$$

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

I don't actually mind ports, a lot of people missed them the first time round and can enjoy them.

{ Monkey Wii. ~ Nirbis Hater ~ Nintendo Fanboy }
I HERD U LIEK TEH MUDKIPZ?

CHRONO TRIGGER DS remake! FTW!

*Squeals like a fangirl*

..... what? Smilie

EDIT: For Wii, Remakes of VII-IX/a collection of all 3 like with the Anthology or the Beginnings games on PS1 plzkthnzbi.

I'm becoming tired of Square. Their output has gotten increasingly slap-dash since, well, since the millennium happened really. It's really become noticeable the last few years.

Yeah, another lazy remake.

sounds great!!

FFIII a lazy remake? Ok... Whatever you saySmilie
(Just pointing out that like FFIII, a remake doesn't HAVE TO result in a bad game, especially if the original is already very good.)

I don't really know what to expect remade... Hmm... Could turn out to be FFVII.. I know a guy who'd orgasm if that'd happenSmilie

~Getting on C3's massive tits since 2K5.~

If they ever make a remake of FFVII I hope they make it for the Wii. And frankly, I hope it doesn't look like FFVII Advent Children. Having it look more like a sharper looking FFX is fine by me. Sure the movie looked imressive from a technical point of view but kinda lost the charm of the game somewhat.

Star Ocean?

Star Ocean was developed by Tri-Ace... Not Square-Enix.
Then again it was Enix which published it, right? Smilie

and yeah, I don't want remakes, I want new GOOD games... But I think Square-Enix is pretty much done as the good company they once were. (when they were separate and all the good people were still working for them)
