The Wii hit the 6th in top selling Game Hardware list. The numbers reserved are currently unknown, but the system reached its limit in a matter of hours - blimey!

The Wii is seriously going to be a hit.

I was trying to sell my GameCube at a car boot sale this morning and I was actually told by a middle aged looking "Playstation/beer junkie" that I probably wouldnt be able to sell it because the Wii is coming out soon. He then procceded to tell his mate what the Wii was because he went "huh?"

Middle aged man, talking about the Wii. OMFG

Selling your GameCube you should be ashamed.

Anyways very good for the Wii anyone know if GAME are starting to take pre orders for it yet?

Mike Gee of iZINE said, "...The Verve, as he [Richard Ashcroft] promised, had become the greatest band in the world. Most of the critics agreed with him. Most paid due homage. The Verve were no longer the question mark or the clich. They were the statement and the definition."

Ridiculous!

Ridiculous, but brilliant news for Nintendo. Smilie

This is great, it actually sold out by the Saturday I believe! Wii will be massive...

In addition to this, I believe Gamestation over here are apparently saying that they're only taking preorders until Thursday of this week (unconfirmed, but I'll confirm it tomorrow) due to them thinking it'll be in high demand. I'm sorting my preorder out tomorrow - I suggest anybody else who wants one at launch does the same in the next few days.

I'm waiting for pre-orders to start on Amazon UK (got the alert thingy on) as well as Game.

As much as I would like to go to a midnight launch, I'm probably too lazy. Smilie

This looks like it could be a useful link for online shoppers:

One place is already listing at 10 quid less than the RRP too, a good sign. Smilie

Yeah, I'm not sure either. I'd LIKE to do a midnight launch, but whether I can be bothered to is another matter. I might just turn up at 9am on the dot the following morning as I did with DS. Then again, we've been waiting so long, and I'm sure I could manage a night of playing Wii and 'forgetting' to go to uni the next morning...

Plus deals at midnight. I'll probably be there. Not sure whether it'll be GAME, HMV or Gamestation for me yet, though...or Tesco if for some reason they mess up shipments and my order isn't too high up the list, Tesco always have excess consoles upon hardware launches. Smilie

Selling your GameCube you should be ashamed.

For leaving it too late?

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

I think that I might need to pre-order for once...I've never had to do that...

Methinks I'll pay gamestation a visit today.

Wow. Amazon usually gets a lot! I mean, they represent Toys R' Us, too.

I have no doubt Wii will outsell PS3 this holiday and for the next three to five years. After that, PS3 might become affordable (sub-$300?) and everyone will already have a Wii, so we'll see. Sony has their work cut out for them, what with almost no must have, exclusive titles and that price tag. (And the bad reputation they are getting.)

Yess! Wonderful news for Nintendo. Even with the flaws as 'too expensive, to late and too... fucking good'. I hope Nintendo sells all the 4 Millions in just 3 weeks - and I'm one of the receiver of one. Blimey!
*grins like crazy*

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! Smilie

This can't be! I'm not gonna be able to get one if I don't act fast! Smilie

Don't worry, it'll be a different story in the UK. Just go to a shop casualy on launch day and you'll be fine.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

I doubt it this time. It's going to end up pretty big, but you'll be alright if you avoid the big gaming shops and just go for places nobody thinks of for gaming hardware, like Asda or Tesco.

Right, thats it, I'm pre-ordering today, I won't take the risk.

I reckon you guys to preorder.
You don't have to do it at Amazon, just do it at a dealer or a store you usually buy. I think they will take your preorder and if they take it seriously, then they write it down. First come first serve - so you don't have to camp in front of the store on December 7th.
If your store will not do this, then go to another one!

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

Play.com have started pre-orders, got mine in just to be safe. Smilie

Can cancel at any time, so no harm in it really.

Handier link than the last one: http://www.wiipreorder.co.uk/

Play.com are not good to preorder with. They were handing out 360s, not on first come first serve, but on how much you had spent with them over the years.

Nuts, I'll add one at HMV as well then, who I assume will be worse.

I've bought a fair amount with Play, though - I'm not exactly a new customer.

Thanks for the heads up, though.

You know I haven't seen Nintendo this aggressive over a homeconsole launch since the SNES days. Infact what they're giving us with Wii surpasses even that. Not only do I agree with everyone that Wii will sell in bucket loads this holiday but the phenomenom will drive through to next year and beyond. Apart from Zelda all the heavy hitting titles from both Nintendo and 3rd parties are coming out next year and I don't think this is coincidence. The fact also that developers are being compelled to at least use 16:9 480p, a format that looks quite snazzy on HDTVs, will help appease HDTV owners that Wii's graphics while not always as polish as the other next gen consoles, still look great. My only wish is that we had been given an option of what colour Wii (either Black or White for now) we'd like to pick up at launch. Either way December can't come soon enough. I'm still a bit miffedthat I won't be picking up Metroid this Christmas but hey....! Smilie

Yes, Olu. That's right in my opinion.
I ordered Wii at a small dealer so that is a good thing to do in Germany, since we don't have the big game stores UK have.

When you order at a small store, you maybe can change the color, add some Games, maybe even change Sports into something other, add Wiimotes... Who knows.
I prefer this instead of ordering at a big store. On the other hand, there may be some discounts like 5 punds off or something like that...

I am a bit disappointed that I can not play MP3, too, but I have more than enough alternatives. Zelda... Hell, even Excite Truck looks brillant! Check it out at IGN or Gamespot or...

jb, lay hands on Excite Truck as it's looking better than ever!

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

I put my pre-order in with Gamestation. I'm getting it from Gamestation, not really because I shopped around but because I've been pleased with them in the past. They got my DS at launch with no problems and they didn't push the GameCube into the background like GAME and others did, so they get my support.
