Dr Robotinik Stand back, this rotten egg's cracked! Profile by Phil Beveridge [ CrazySonicFan :: Freelance Writer :: ]IntroductionAlso known as Dr. Eggman, Dr. Robotnik is an evil scientist with an IQ of 300. A renowned authority on robotics, Robotnik always has a diabolical plot to conquer the world, but Sonic finds a way to stop him in his tracks. Dr. Robotnik is a romanticist, a feminist, and a self-professed gentleman. Sadly, his charms are often difficult to spot through the abominable laughter that accompanies his maniacal declarations of world domination.StatisticsAge: Absolutely no idea. Even the Sonic Heroes manual agrees with me, stating 'Age Unknown'. Species: Human, although egg shaped. Location: The planet of Mobius, wherever that is. Usually found in an evil lair somewhere, planning to steal the chaos emeralds AGAIN. Geez, he never gives up, does he? Birth: Nothing is known about his birth apart from his name, which was Dr. Ivo Kintobor. Well, before the accident. There's plenty of stuff about the origin though. The story's very compicated, so don't say I didn't warn you. It was all in Sonic The Comic UK (#71). To start off with, Sonic is employed by Dr. Ovi Kintobor about 10 years ago to research the Chaos Emeralds. Sonic's speed overloads the speed machine, and it blows up, turning Sonic blue (He was originally brown). Later, Dr. Kintobor goes to his fridge and sees if there is any food, but all he finds is a rotten egg. Kintobor picks it up and heads towards the rubbish bin, when he trips over a stray cable, and lands with the egg on a control panel, causing a giant explosion. The blast fuses with the rotten egg, and causes Dr. Ivo Kintobor to turn into Dr. Ovi Robotnik. Seems simple enough. It was all an accident, right? WRONG. Now this is the bit where your head starts to hurt. In the present day, Robotnik creates a group of badniks called the Brotherhood of Metallix, which overpowers him and travel back in time, with the mission of ruling the world. Because Robotnik has a self destruct mechanism on every Metallix, they go back in time and stop Robotnik from ever being created by removing the egg from Kintobor's fridge. No egg, no explosion, no Robotnik. Back in the present, the Metallixes have taken over the planet. Sonic and the Chaotix crew (Mighty, Espio, Charmy and Vector) travel back in time, and fight a bunch of Metallixes, and one of the Metallixes drops a rotten egg. Sonic takes it, and travels back in time to Kintobor's lab, to when Sonic was still brown. Sonic places the egg in the fridge, and just to make sure, pulls on a cable, tripping Kintobor up, and causing the explosion. So, in theory, the person responsible for creating the world's most evil dictator is SONIC. Bet you weren't expection that, huh? Main Features: Big egg shaped body, huge moustache, bald. May be in a large home-made machine firing lasers at stuff. Clothing: Black trousers, red shirt, and the white gloves that every other character in the Sonic universe wears.ConceptThe evil guy in all the spiky blue one's games, Robotnik will try anything to stop him. Usually he captures cute little animals and puts them in robots, which is just mean. Please, someone phone the RSPCA. Of course, Sonic always wins.AppearancesHmm. Nearly every Sonic game out there. I won't go into detail, as Spydarlee] already made the list in his profile of Sonic. His most noted appearances are: Sonic The Hedgehog - Mega Drive (Genesis) Sonic The Hedgehog 2 - Mega Drive (Genesis) Sonic The Hedgehog 3 - Mega Drive (Genesis) Sonic & Knuckles - Mega Drive (Genesis) Sonic Adventure - DreamcastSonic Adventure 2 - DreamcastSonic Advance - Gameboy AdvanceSonic Heroes - Gamecube, Xbox, PS2Best AppearanceThe only game where you can control Robotnik is Sonic Adventure 2, but I prefer the old Robotnik in Sonic 1, especially seeing him getting angry in the credits after you collect all of the emeralds.Do Not Mention...The confusion about his name. He's been known as Dr. Robotnik since Sonic 1 on the Mega Drive, but he's been known as Dr. Eggman from Sonic Adventure onwards. Apparently, he's been known as Dr. Eggman in Japan sonce Sonic 1, but the name didn't appeal to US gamers. Maybe Dr. Eggman is an affectionate nickname given by Sonic and chums. God Knows. Of course, then we bring Dr. Kintobor into it and it gets even more confusing...In closing...Every hero has an enemy, albeit not overweight and weird looking. Robotnik mate, give up while you still can, 'cause Sonic'll kick your butt every time!
