Nintendo has launched a new take on the Steel Diver franchise as a free download on the 3DS eShop this evening.
Announced during the latest Nintendo Direct broadcast, Steel Diver: Sub Wars is the sequel to the popular 3DS outing, Steel Diver. The new release continues the undersea tactical approach, with a range of single player missions and competitive multiplayer modes to enjoy whilst piloting a sub.
There'll be two flavours of Sub Wars to try out: a free edition, which includes two submarine types, several single-player missions and the multiplayer feature. The Premium, paid version will include the full single player experience for those wanting to dive a little deeper.
In addition, players will be able to travel up the online stream and compete against other Steel Diver players across the globe in both the free and premium versions.
Will you download Steel Diver: Sub Wars? What are your thoughts on Nintendo's two-tier approach and free version?
