Comcept founder and Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune spoke about the performance of Mighty No. 9 and Kickstarter.
Speaking to 4Gamer last November, he noted how the reaction in Japan compared to the West is fairly different, where there's less awareness of crowd-funding. Inafune described how "to have over 40,000 backers and have them spend their money on a game that has yet to be released, is really quite something else."
He likened the volume of pledges as similar to having a baseball stadium full of supporters, with the best part of the campaign being just how many fans there are on a global scale. Infaune hopes to "become some sort of reference to those who will be coming in afterwards".
