Third Nintendo Exclusive Sonic due 2014 on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Rumour: Contrary to earlier reports, it seems that the third game in the exclusive Nintendo/SEGA deal may arrive in 2014.

It has been highlighted in a press release from Nintendo Germany earlier this week that Nintendo fans would be treated to all three this year, however IGN's Richard George spoke to SEGA who confirmed that "the 'third' Sonic game in Nintendo's three-game deal will not arrive in 2013".

Currently Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games and Sonic Lost World are scheduled for release this year.

What do you think the third Sonic title in the Nintendo line-up would be?

Mario and Sonic at the Olympic games is such a cop-out, its not really a Sonic exclusive game is it...

Its not as if they could do it without Mario!

The fact that it won't be out until next year makes me think it will be another 3D Sonic game (either sequel to Lost Worlds or a new one).

Just like Sonic had a string of exclusive games on Wii:
Sonic and the Secret Rings
Sonic and the Black Knight
Sonic Colors

A third storybook game?
