Nintendo Reveals Latest EU Downloads on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Nintendo of Europe has revealed the latest slew of download games for the WiiWare, DSiWare and 3DS eShop. Coming out this week on Nintendo’s various services this Thursday, 26th January, are as follows:

Wiggling its way onto WiiWare this week is The Very Hungry Caterpillar’s ABCs, a game designed to help children learn the letters of the alphabet. Based on the popular children’s book The Very Hungry Catapillar, the game uses quizzes, drawing and colouring exercises to make learning fun. There are also two add-ons available to help keep the learning process. The Very Hungry Caterpillar’s ABCs will be available for 800 Nintendo Points.

Making its way onto DSiWare is Successfully Learning: Mathematics, Year 3, a game to help children learn maths aided by a friendly vampire named Freddy, who gives hints and advice to help complete exercises in a playful way.

When it’s time to take a break from learning, two more games are dropping in on handhelds. Invading DSiWare is Double Bloob, a game where two siblings Aen and Niua need help defending the planet from an invasion of Bloobs who have also taken a dolphin named Will hostage. The game has eight different worlds, 48 levels and will be available for 500 Nintendo points or £4.50 on the 3DS eShop. This comes from Nibris-offshoot, Bloober Team (interviewed here), and was originally previewed in its original DS format back in 2007 by Cubed3, before being switched over to WiiWare in 2009 and now finally landing on DSiWare.

Floating onto screens is Balloon Kid, where you take the role of Alice. In a land filled with danger with nothing but balloons keeping you afloat from the perils below, Alice must save her brother who was swept away with the wind. Travelling through eight stages and traversing lands filled obstacles and enemies, Balloon Kid will cost £2.70 on the Nintendo 3DS eShop.

Also available on Nintendo Video via SpotPass for the 3DS this week is the latest instalment of Circus 3D, giving the perspective of different performers in a circus act, and 3D Machine telling the tale of an inventor who leaves his latest invention with his assistant who causes a catastrophe.

Will Cubed3 readers be downloading any of the above?

I really hope we get Mutant Mudds next week.

That's the thing with NoE and American developers. They have to get it rated by both USK and PEGI... and PEGI can take quite a while.
