Square Enix has revealed a few more details about its Chocobo Racing game for Nintendo's 3DS format. Following the release of Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales (DS) and Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon (Wii) in the US and Europe, the company has left the previous two DS releases stuck in Japan (Chocobo Tales 2 and Chocobo's Dungeon +).
Now, though, there is renewed hope for the series that once sold over a million copies in Japan (the original Chocobo's Dungeon for PSone), with the release of Chocobo Racing 3DS. Players can select one of several characters, each of which come with specific traits and handling, then they must traverse numerous courses in the hope of completing the various challenging missions on offer, some of which include collecting certain special items. Gamers will have to have a selection of magical spells and useful items that can all be accessed via the lower, touch-screen, with some examples of items and spells being 'Level-Up' and 'Meteor.'
With up to four-players, minimum, being confirmed so far, this could well be an interesting alternative to the straight up arcade racing of Ridge Racer and the fun antics of Mario Kart 3DS.
If eventually localised, would you choose to pick this up when the 3DS launches in the West?
