11. Mario was originally a carpenter in Donkey Kong, not a plumber, and the colours of his outfit, blue and red, were reversed Smilie (his overalls were red and his undershirt was blue and in fact he still had his overalls red in the original Super Mario Bros.).

Haha never paid attention to the to cover. In the game he's got it blue though. Haven't checked but it might be red in Wrecking Crew as well. Perhaps in other early NES games too in which he appeared.

Good point, it is blue overalls and red top in-game lol. Here's the EU box art for Wrecking Crew, where he has a green top:
