Whats the point of all these sports games every year
its just the same game with updates and a different name... 2003 - 2005 ect.
whereas Action/Adventure and Shootem out games are always a little bit diiferent storyline wise and all.

I don't mind a new edition each year (though I don't buy sports games at all...), it helps to update the player lists and so on, what I hate is seeing the 2005 version of a game released in 2004, surely one new edition a game is good enough (the actual sports are yearly?), there is no need to push out the games so fast, especially when they are usually very similar; imagine how it would be treated if there was a Metroid game released avery six months... some people already think that Metroid Prime: Echoes is too similar... (I haven't played my copy yet, I'll holding it back until December 25).
Yeah, but surely they'd be a way to update your version to include the tweaks in a team line up? Downloaded possibly? (Although not onto the GC, stupid Nintendo not supporting online!)
Although I suppose if people are still buying the games then why would EA (and others) stop making them?
I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN AND ALONG WITH YOUR DOWNLOADING OPTION YOU COULD MAYBE BUY A UPDATE DISK WHICH TELLS THE CONSOLE WHATS NEW>>> AND THIS UPDATE DISK WOLD BE QUITE A LOT CHEAPER THAN NORMAL GAMES
Great minds think alike. My most detestable genre is sport (I like playing it in reality though) and my favourite is Action Adventure!
SO TRUE
Some people like them- if you don't, then don't buy

I really only enjoy the sports genre when the game has a some rpg/custoising elements: an extensive character creating tool and maybe the ability to gain skills as you play more. The deeper this system is, the more chance that I'll enjoy it.
I GUESS THATS TRUE SO>>>
1 MORE THIng is THPS/THUG classified as Sport cause thats getting out of hand now
I disagree. Sport games can be very good. Regular updates are good because it gives people the option of buying a game with brand new player lists and optimal graphics, gameplay. Complaining about minor updates is stupid unless you're buying every single one.
Also, many people dislike sport games because they dislike the sport.
And its stupid to say: why play sport games when you could play spot because sport games are vastly different from actual sport. They're just based on actual sports to leech off their popularity, and use their rules because they're good
The fact is, sports can be, and often are, fun. Especially when playing with friends. NHL + ability to smash people through glass windows + friends = fun. It's just like E=MC2. It's a universal law.
And by the way, lol at Zs sig!
I guess that is true but can anybody truely say they prefere Sports games than statergy/ Action / Gun games

I can say i prefer them over gun games
Sports games can be pretty good.
I don't care what anyone says about milking a franchises, who cares when the gameplay and multiplayer is so good - the Mario sports games rock
And Pro Evo 3, if I thought about it, would likely be in my top ten (certainly top 20) games this generation - likely near the bottom - but with things like WW, SMS, MP/2, Pikmin/2, RE etc above it that's no shame
very rarly buy sports games and there usally MArio sprt type things you know power ups and that ,maby the odd racer . USed to Like tony Hawk games but meh boring now
My Point exactly guys and galls
I like Mario sports games, but I agree that sports games from people like EA are useless. They're just the same old game each year and shouldn't, IMO, be sold at full price.
each year, the games are slightly improved each year? if you buy say one each generation, its verry worthwhile
The EA NHL games are great. Wonder when Microsoft's NHL Rivals will finally come out for the Xbox...
The one thing nice about sport games being updated each year is you can get last year's game for next to nothing. I got FIFA 2002 for $5 American NEW two years ago.
By the way, those of you in Europe may not care, but EA just signed an exclusive deal with the NFL for the next five years. There will be no Sega Sports NFL game next year.
EDIT- ChrisMGS - Microsoft has disbanded their XSN group with the exception of Top Spin and Links, so it may never come out.
