This announcement alone made staying up to watch the Direct worth it. Really need to go to sleep now, though.
Totally getting that Special Edition, by the way.

I for one can't wait to see that moon come down in 3D.
Very excited about this. Probably my favorite game in the series.
My nipples went hard when this started. Cheers, Nint.
Awesome, sauce. Great move, expected, but good. Shame it's not on U though, really would love to see an HD Majora. Makes sense on 3DS, however.
Just hoping they've done a Master Quest, and I'm assuming they have, given the long time it's taken to announce this. Although no mention of it is a bit odd. With only four dungeons, they've hopefully remixed many of the other areas like Ikana Castle and other mini-dungeons.
Good job Nintendo! I had hoped for this to be New3DS exclusive or even for Nintendo's next portable. I feel like we have had a lot of Zelda in the last 5 years. Skyward Sword, ALBW, WW, OoT3D and now MM plus Zelda U...not complaining but Nintendo tend to do this with a franchise then forget about it for 8 years!

Take out the remasters/remakes that have been helping to tide us over until the real, new games in the series, and you've got your traditional 4-5 year wait for a brand new Zelda on each format. It's not like every Zelda fan is interested in re-releases of older games, but while it's great to have them do all this with OOT, MM, WW, etc, I'm not seeing this as us having a lot of Zelda and give them any excuse to not release new stuff in the next few years.
If anything, I'd like them to try and keep filling in those future long gaps between new Zelda games with more remasters/remakes if possible. TP/SS HD remasters on Wii U perhaps one or two years after Zelda U would be very nice to keep us going until the next game.
Loving the box art. Cannot wait for this and glad it's finally been announced. As said above, I do hope there is a Master Quest. It was a shame it wasn't included with Wind Waker but hopefully that's not the case here.
Don't want to sit here and complain, but I definitely would have preferred a new 3D Zelda. There's not really been a brand new Zelda for the system yet that's not been a remake or set itself apart. A Link Between Worlds was similar to a Link to the Past in a lot of ways.
I want a Zelda that takes advantage of the systems power and functions, that's fresh and truly new. I just hope it happens before the end of the systems life, it would make a great game to end the hardware with, like Skyward Sword did with the Wii.
I'm happy for those that wanted it though, I know it's considered one of the best Zelda's.

Marzy mate.
Nah kidding lad. I agree. Didn't mind which came first: New Zelda 3DS > MM3D or MM3D > New Zelda 3DS, so long as it happens. But next 3DS Zelda could end up on New 3DS instead. Who knows, maybe they got a team working on a new 3DS Zelda as we speak, but MM is the gap-filler. Still, we got a brand-new 3D one coming on Wii U next year, so not all bad.
I don't have a problem with the remakes but we will get to a point where they'll be remaking remakes at this point, especially with Pokemon.
I think if anything they should give the "Zero Mission" treatment to the original LoZ or Zelda 2. It's not 1985 anymore Nintendo, and not 2006 either. Those nostalgia hunters must be drying up now. It's hard to think how many people spend £6 on a NES title when realistically they could probably spend 69p on a better version of that classic with upgraded visuals etc. I love playing old NES and SNES classics but while they are nostalgic for me I can't imagine the average 10 year old wanting to spend a significant amount of money on NES classics, I think Nintendo should start to focus their remakes on these titles.
with that said though, I do love MM and glad it's coming out, just wished that it had been for the New 3DS or the "4DS"
