Ikaruga is in Steam Greenlight's voting process. I know there are some Ikaruga fans on C3, so help push Ikaruga onto Steam!

For you pups unfamiliar with Ikaruga, It's a 2D vertical shoot 'em up game (often shortened to "shmup"). The most interesting thing about it is the white/black bullets vs. your white/black ship. Your ship has the ability to flip between the color white and black. Enemies will shoot white or black bullets at you. You can absorb bullets that are the same color as your ship (so, while you are white, white bullets won't hurt you, but black bullets will kill you).
Enemies are also white or black and they tend to shoot the bullets that are same color as themselves. As you flip between white or black, the bullets you shoot from your ship will flip, too. If you shoot an enemy with an opposite colored bullet, you double damage. That also means your the opposite color of their bullets, so you're vulnerable.
When you add all of the above to the general chaos of bullet hell shmup game, things get hectic fast.
Here's a video that gives a good overview of the game. The game is prettier than this video would have you believe:

If you're unfamiliar with Steam Greenlight, it's a section on Steam where the community votes on the games they want to see added to Steam. It mostly consists of smaller indie games, so I'm actually kind of surprised that Ikaruga is on Greenlight. It's certainly a niche game, but I would think it has enough recognition from shmup fans in general and also a small but loyal fanbase. As long as I can get it on Steam, though, I'll be happy.
