Where do you keep your Portables?

After the whole 2DS reveal and not being all-too pocket friendly, it got me thinking - where do you guys keep your 3DS, PSP, mobile phone etc?

For me, mobile's 99% of the time in the pocket when I'm out and about, but I really don't tend to keep the 3DS in there. It can just about squeeze into a my jeans and coat pocket, but it's mainly in a bag.

Game Boy Advance SP used to carry about in my pocket, but ever since the DS it's remained strictly in a bag!

So how about you?

I like the idea of my handheld systems being small, thin, and portable, but the reality is I do most of my playing at home. Ironically within a few feet of my 360/PC. If I do take the system out and about, it's generally in the backpack.

Interesting question, as a system that is mostly used at home doesn't need to worry quite as much about pocket-ability. That said, I still like having the option. 

What impacts my usage habits more than anything though is the battery. The battery life on the 3DS (regardless of system) is pretty dire. I don't take the 3DS on longer trips because it's not going to keep up. Often gives me even less than the stated three hours! If I really need entertainment on the go, I generally just read on my Kindle. That thing gives me weeks of battery life on a single charge.

Whenever I'm out I don't really have time to play games so I much prefer keeping my 3DS XL at home where it's safe. Maybe if I had a daily train commute of half an hour or more I would consider it but for now I treat my handhelds like I treat my consoles/PC and play them exactly where I do all my other gaming.

I have to commute for around 3-4 hours every day (1:48 mins in the morning/1:30 in evening) so for me its been really good to get through some games. It varies for me, i keep mine in my left suit jacket pocket as I work near London, so just in case someone tries to shoot me Nintendo can keep my heart safe.

If I'm popping into town, I usually take my 3DS with me in my pocket, even more so now that the StreetPass Relay System has been introduced. I have a 3DS XL and it can just about fit in most of my pockets. It's kind of awkward walking around with it, but for 1-2 guaranteed StreetPasses, I think it's totally worth it!

I carry my 3DS around in a little bag that I attach to my belt. It looks really retro.
But in some cases I carry it in the pocket of my trousers.

If I'm playing a game, say when Fire Emblem came out, I carry it around my backpack. However, 90% of the time I leave it at home and take my tablet with me instead. Looking forward to X/Y and Phoenix Wright though!
