Xbox One Capable Of Controlling Users With Simple Voice Commands

( Edited 27.05.2013 00:15 by jb )

Just want to post an error in the editorial. Its been widely incorrectly reported that you can't sell games on XboxOne without a publisher. You can't sell Xbox Live games without a publisher, you can still sell non Xbox Live games on the Xbox Marketplace without a publisher. Microsoft have stated that hasn't changed.

It took me about 8 hours of effort to transfer my games from Wii to Wii U.

Took me about 2 hours.

It's not really effortless per se, but it is simple and easy for consumers to do, and if it messes up your data is still safe.

Yes - sorry I mentioned that in a previous Xbox One article, but not this one.

Microsoft have stated that hasn't changed - Exactly my point, still old and tired policies and the backlash from the indie community has been immense. Microsoft is a huge platform for potential indie games, more explore, more revenue avenues for these smaller studios and talented individuals. But Microsoft has yet to budge.

It may take some time (varies per person), but I still feel the process itself is effortless - you can let it do its business and voila, it's carried across. The account system on Wii U still needs a lot of work mind, but at least you can play all existing Wii games, use the Wii periperhals/controllers, and access all digital WiiWare games at ease.

You can let it do its business, makes it sound like its automatic. Redownloading each game Individually is a massive pain in the butt, especially when you have 60 games+.  One hour to transfer, 7 hours to redownload. Most of these games aren't very big, it shouldn't take 5 minutes+ to download a NES game, but it does because of all the ridiculous menus you have to go through.

Agreed, that's the problem with the Wii U directly emulating the Wii hardware, including its poor internet times :/

I'm still hoping that one day, Nintendo will give the Wii U a firmware update that integrates the Wii Mode a lot better, gives it upgraded speed or makes things from Wii Mode accessible instantly from Wii U Mode, etc.

I'd say it also depends on your internet speed & how many titles you've downloaded. If you've got a high speed cable connection & only have a few of your favorites you won't have to wait too long, if you're running on a pitiful DSL 56k connection & have the entire SNES & Genesis library on your system.....you better go out & enjoy a movie or 3.

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422

Here's another scenario for the Internet connection debacle. Any military member who deploys will not have Internet access readily available for their systems (they are very strict on who and what connects to systems) Microsoft will be at least sharing a HUGE portion of gamers with the PS4 when it comes to the military

For some odd reason, I was thinking about this myself. You can't take your console with you to places with no internet, so if you're in the military or maybe just going to a holiday home with no connections, it's a dud. I'm not sure MS realises the amount of people that this is limiting to playing its new console.

At least the gifs of the thing have given people some smiles;

LOL I actually watch that gif about 10 times yesterday. It's just that good! Don't remember that episode of Animaniacs, however!
