Acclaim Facing Bankruptcy ?

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Acclaim Entertainment Inc. (AKLM.O: Quote, Profile, Research) may be forced to seek bankruptcy protection or shut down if it cannot obtain new bank financing, the video game publisher said on Friday.
The warning came as the Glen Cove, New York-based company reported a net loss of $25.4 million for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31.

Acclaim, which publishes such games as "Combat Elite" and "Alias," needs new cash to replace a financing agreement with GMAC Commercial Finance that expires on Aug. 4. It said it has signed a letter of intent with a different lender to borrow up to $30 million but the deal has not yet been completed.

EA said that small companies would be left behind as technology moves on, but Acclaim going down would be a kick in the balls to that.

Don't say they don't make, release or whatever with good games, they gave us Burnout 1 & 2

I found it by accident, I was looking on their site for any good games they made and this was one of the upcomming titles. And for those with XBOX Live they'll also be releasing a special edition of Worms 3D which is Live compatible.

Acclaim made more good games than burnout one and two HELLO turok one two and turok evolution were all great fun. SO was worms 3d and a whole host of other worms games i hope accalaim dont shut down they rock!

Technically though Team17 make the worms games. Considering the original game was done in some technician's lunch break its done quite well.

Worms is pretty brilliant, but Turok was very bad. The idea was excellent, but no matter how hard the tried they couldn't make a good game. Not a great loss, in my opinion.

No way Ok turok did have its faults Turok 1-fogging
turok-2 Levels too long hard to know where to go easy to get lost
turok rage wars- actually i cant think what was wrong with rage wars.
Turok evolution- i cant really remember what was wrong with this one either

Turok Evolution was good in single player, but multiplayer was crap. No bots which is the way i like to play my FPS multiplayer.
