Bit of a talking point recently is Nintendo continuing to collaborate with other developers with its franchises.

Obviously the big one recently revealed is Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem, with Nintendo and Intelligent Systems teaming up with Atlus. Other collabs with Nintendo in the past include Tecmo Koei for Pokémon Conquest, Team Ninja for Metroid: Other M and SEGA/Amusement Vision for F-Zero GX. Nintendo also has a very good relationship with Namco, which developed Donkey Konga and Star Fox Assault, and is also working on Smash Bros at the moment.

Nintendo is looking to continue more collabs in the future, so what would you like to see? It could be a crossover of two franchises, or simply wishing for a particular developer to work with Nintendo on a new game in a series.

I'd really like to see Silicon Studio work on a new 2D Zelda. Their job with 3D Dot Game Heroes was such a worthy throwback to NES RPG adventures and was a real challenge to complete, both in terms of puzzles and enemies. It was an incredibly creative and humorous game, too, so I would love to see that brought into Zelda. Really would love to have it made in HD for Wii U. Anyone that's seen 3D Dot on PS3 would agree how sublime it looks. Equally so, stereoscopic 3D would work wonderfully for it so 3DS would be a worthy option, also.

Perhaps a fan service one for myself would be Mario RPG X Final Fantasy. A collab between Intelligent Systems and Square Enix. Perhaps have Mario as the main character but throw him into a fantasy world where he can recruit some faces from the FF series as allies. I think it could work in either the Paper Mario format or a more Super Mario RPG format. Paper would be good since they're already partway there with the Theatrhythm models - just need to touch them up a bit for expressions and remove rosy cheeks. But could go down the completely original route for a more 3D style, like Mario RPG.

Whether it'd come together or not without being ridiculous, I don't know, so failing that, an original Nintendo X Square Enix RPG collab is much needed. Perhaps a real strong Wii U HD exclusive effort. I know it's not possible with all that Square has going on right now; it's more of a pipeline dream. But imagining a Nintendo X SE RPG in that vein would be incredible.

Mario X Final Fantasy RPG.... I love the idea of that.

My main want, but an ABSOLUTE fantasy, would be a huge Smash Bros. game between Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft. It'll never happen. But I think it'd be amazing if it did.

The Minish Cap, developed by Capcom, is one of my favourite Zelda games, and as such I'd love to see a Zelda game developed by Platinum games. Clover Studios did an amazing job with Okami and they could definite shake things up in the Zelda department whilst retain the adventure feel.

Ooooooo, a Zelda by Platinum would be fantastic! And definitely different.

Definitely Smash related for me - Nintendo are working with Namco Bandai, but I feel the likes of SEGA, Capcom perhaps can really help boost the development and get the project out sooner.

Would like to see Retro take on Star Fox, I reckon they'd be able to pull it off.

Definitely Square Enix stepping back into take on the Mario RPG series once again. Why hand it to anyone else?

Perhaps because much of the talent that was there at the time of SMRPG and made it into such a monster of a classic game... has long since left the company? Square Enix is an half empty box today (other more optimistic people might see it as half full, but that's the same idea).

I said it before but I'll say it again: let Shin'en have a go at one of Nintendo's franchise. Linzner said anything was possible, so it's really up to Nintendo. Why not Starfox ?? Shin'en have a huge experience dealing with shmups already, so why not??

Grasshopper Manufacture X Another Code

In terms of devs taking on Nintendo IP's

I would have like to have seen what Factor 5 could have done with StarFox...if only that could have happened.

I also think that WB and Rocksteady (the guys who made Arkham Asylum) would be good to make a Metroid game...but i guess that might be a bit of a random take on things...

In terms of a crossover;

Would be good to see Nintendo X Kingdom Hearts...with the wealth of Disney characters there are now (with Star Wars and Marvel characters) this couldn't be any better! Square teamed up with Nintendo for Mario Basketball, why not this!
