I skipped the DSlite and upgraded to a DSi which I don't regret at all. The slightly bigger and brighter screens compared to the phat are really nice. I don't mind the lack of GBA slot either as I don't play them much anymore and I've got my phat and SP for them. Smilie

The interface is better designed and it's slighty cool that you can swap games without having to switch off as pointless as that seems. Smilie

DSiWare has provided some great games like Art Academy, Flipnote and DodoGo. I can't imagine them looking as good on the 3DS so I'd probably not import them to the 3DS and just buy 3DSware on it.

I got a phat DS on launch because it was a great price and a huge step up from the GBA. The 3DS simply isn't as big a step for me to put down twice the amount for 3D.

I've still got quite a library of unfinished games on my DS and my PS3, 360, PSP and Wii will provide more than enough entertainment. With that, I'm happy to wait a couple of years for the second 3DS model. Smilie

I don't know, I'm happy with the luanch titles, well mostly the Dinosaurs one. Smilie) it will take me back to when I was younger, playing with my dinosaurs.

When all is bad don't look for a easy way out. Because you wont know what to do once your out

It's pretty miserable but I'm still gonna try for one at launch. My Lite stopped working over a year ago and never quite got round to saving for a new one, got so many missed non-3d games to keep me going.

And really this thing looks bloody ace, street fighter alone should keep smiling for a while Smilie

Still avoiding the launch units, my DSphat had speaker problems, DSlite had that hinge crack problem (never got that thankfully) which was a concern, early 360 unit died on me, and my launch wii makes a loud whirring noise these days.

Either I'm lucky or you're unlucky. My DSP still works perfectly asides from the massive scratches on the touch screen, my brother however has gone through a DSP with speaker/shoulder button problems, two DSLs with shoulder button problems, and a DSi with shoulder button problems.

He is an extremely unlucky gamer :'l
(his first PSP just randomly stopped reading discs too, my first PSP still works perfectly)

My main problem is there's a lack of quality Nintendo support from the start, where as the DS at least had Super Mario 64 DS (good at the time) and WarioWare Touched (for Europe). Nintendogs + Cats, doesn't really interest me and it just looks similar to the original games on the DS. Steel Driver is at least more original, but again, it's not the sort of game that interest me.

I would like Pilotwings Resort though and that's definitely going to be a game I'll get, once I buy a 3DS. I am disappointed that they just based it around Wuhu Island though. Pilotwings 64 had different environments to explore and they were new at the time. Most people have already explored Wuhu on Wii Sports Resort and it won't feel as fresh now. I really wish Nintendo would put more effort into it. I have been missing Pilotwings and it's nice to see it return.

As for the third-party titles? there's nothing really there that stands out, for me. Dead or Alive or Street Fighter IV I'd think about getting, but they aren't must-buys.

My thoughts exactly !!! I put together a list of all the upcoming DS and wii titles I want to buy as well as all those released that I want to buy which I don't own yet. There's still so much to do with the DS and Wii that the mo,ney I was ready to put into the 3DS + ¨Pilotwings... i'll put it into buying those old games which I don't own yet (while they're still avaiable, cuz' they won't be easy to find forever)

I'll just wait a bit before I get a 3DS, and let it get some more games which I'm really interested in owning.

I've played them all. Street Fighter 3D is easily the best in terms of overall quality. But the one's coming soon are great and are destined to be popular.

OoT 3D - Greater

Kid Icarus U - Awesome Nintendo Quality - cannot wait, it was a visual feast and I really enjoyed flight.

Re: Mercs 3D - Far Better than it's ever been. Graphics and sound are awesome, and the enemy count is crazy.

3DS Code 2578-3122-0744

I've only pre-ordered SSF4IV3D (whew, what a mouthful)
The other games don't interest me.

Other games that interest me:
DoA, Starfox and OoT.

As what superlink said, i've never upgraded either, because i've never felt the need. I felt the original DS was the right size for my hands and that the screens were adequate.
It's dead now, but only due to errors on my part. (Could be easily fixed, but i'm too lazy)

SINCE 06

Remember when we all thought the Wii (at the time I think most were still calling it the Revolution) would come with a vast back-catalogue of pre-installed virtual console games? Can't help but think that the 3DS would look a lot more desirable on launch day if it came with maybe ten VC games. A few Game Boy games, maybe a GBA and a SNES title. I mean I guess the AR thing is supposed to sweeten the deal - but it still to me feels like a pretty light addition. Especially in the absence of OoT, Star Fox and so on at launch.

Something like Super Mario Land is very basic and features Nintendo's main mascot. In my opinion, that would have made a great free game to come with the system.

On a side-note, is anyone actually willing to pay for Gameboy games? I know I won't be, but my main reasons are due to a lot of those older games not appealing to me. I can't really think of any titles that I'd like to download.

I wasn't going to bother downloading the Gameboy games until I found out that they are going to be in 3D. So they're not complete ports which is cool.

The first of May roll out for the VC is going to be huge.

Asolutely, the GB has some of the greatest handheld games ever.

I'm personally looking forward to:

Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages
Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons
Gargoyles Quest
Micro Machines 2
Ganbare Goemon Warrior/Mystical Ninja
Battletoads
Batman
Metroid II
Parodius
Duck Tales
PC Kid
Bubble Bobble
Gradius
Zelda: Links Awakening
Super Mario Land 1 & 2
Wario Land
Kirby's Dreamland 1 & 2
Castlevania II
Donkey Kong Land III
Wario Land
Contra - The Alien Wars
Trax
Snow Bros. JR
Tetris
Bionic Commando
Tiny Toon Adventures 2
Ninja Gaiden Shadow
Mickey Mouse Magic Wand
Mario's Picross
Tecmo Bowl

See, I'm not too bothered about retro stuff coming to the 3DS, I'm looking forward to the titles that will come out from the indie crowd. It will be different again compared to the stuff that we've seen on the Wii/DS primarily because they are pretty much forced to have the action on the top screen, so they will have to have a touch screen work around, which could be really interesting.
