Hm the virtual console thing neglected - figures, I just don't want to buy the same game twice.
Wiiware is fun, vc is fun but expensive. I'd buy dk64 though
I'm sure that Jetpac game in DKC64 is owned by Rare though.

I know the game is owned by Nintendo, but I believe all the things that Rare added are theirs, like the kremlins. I believe that's the reason DKCR doesn't have them or any other Kongs. If Retro put them in, it would be a huuuuuge slap in the face to Rare.

King K. Rool was in Donkey Konga, from what I can remember and he was also in King of Swing, Jungle Climber and Mario Super Sluggers. I'm sure Dixie Kong was in Donkey Konga 2, as well.
I do find it odd that they seem so restricted with Donkey Kong Country Returns though.
Perhaps they're neglecting the VC because of poor sales? Perhaps the sales are so poor because the prices are so high?
I for one have never bought a single VC game. And now that my Wii (almost?) broke down, I don't think I'll ever have the guts to buy downloadable content that I can't transfer.
People are confused over the rights to DK64? Donkey Kong is a Nintendo created IP, therefore it's theirs. lol Banjo-Kazooie on the other hand, isn't.
Or Perfect Dark. Or Killer Instinct, Jet Force Gemini, Blast Corps, Conker... DAMN YOU, RARE!!!
...regardless, Ninty should've been stepping up the VC not skimming it down. DK64 should've been on there a LONG time ago. As well as many other games, but I digress.
...before I blow a blood vessel...

Maybe they are holding it back to celebrate the release of the new Donkey Kong Country game? Or maybe it's just too big for the store, it's a big game.
Either way I'm not too bothered 'cause I still have my N64 hooked up to a TV and I have a copy of Donkey Kong 64!

Oh, and I just figured out Rare was a "work for hire", so Nintendo can use all the kremlings, kongs etc.

Yea, but those are spin offs, not the main series. I think gamesradar said something about that.Oh, and I just figured out Rare was a "work for hire", so Nintendo can use all the kremlings, kongs etc.

Funky Kong was in Mario Kart Wii and let's not forget all those DK trophies in Brawl.
That's an interesting article though bornforthis43. Thanks for posting it up.
