Q. ...Okay, what's this about then?

This, good sir, is the official thread (well dur) for the latest game in Capcom's crossover Fighting Series, Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate All Stars. It is currently on release in the US, and will be with us in Europe within a few short days as of writing this paragraph. I felt it deserved an official thread in respect to Capcom's licensing efforts to get it over here in the first place, the rave reviews it is currently getting, and of course because it has Viewtiful Joe.

Q. Tatsunoko? What's that, some kind of glandular disease?

No, you fool. Tatsunoko, or Tatsunoko Production, to give it its full name, is an Animation Company based in Japan, and the holder of many popular licenses both in their homeland and overseas, including Neo Human Casshern, Samurai Pizza Cats, and Neon Genesis Evangelion. Many of their main properties are represented in this game by their lead characters.
Oh, and if you feel the need to ask me who Capcom are, you deserve a good kicking.

Q. Woah, steady on! Fine, what else can you tell me about this game?

Well, where do we start? Okay, first up, it's a Wii exclusive; and to any 360/PS3-only owners whining about not having it, I say Shut Up, you have Street Fighter 4 already.
As mentioned, TvC is next in the line of Vs Crossover games, and considering the last one was Marvel vs Capcom 2, that should provide a little hint about the game's quality. 2 on 2 battles are the norm here, with all the dazzling flares, explosions, and fancy moves you could ever want to see.
TvC is indeed playable with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk combo, but traditionalists need not feel left out, as there is Classic and Gamecube Pad support too. Oh, and also for this (not-so-little) beauty too.
An online mode, which reportedly works a lot better than Smash Bros Brawl's does (thank the lord), and a special top-down shooter Minigame named Ultimate All-Shooters, will keep those fists flying for a while. But enough from me, here's a video to whet your appetite;

Q. Wow, it looks great! Okay, I'm definitely interested now, anywhere I can buy it for cheap?

Hmmm, cheapo eh. Fair doos. Currently, Zavvi have the best offer on, at 17 Pounds and 95 pence, but if thread readers want to chime in with better discoveries, they are more than welcome.

[From a week in the Future] Q. Hey again, thanks for telling me about TvC, I love it! Last Question though, I need bloomin friend codes for C3 matchups, any takers?

Woah, woah, hold it Marty McFly, getting a bit ahead of ourselves there! When more C3 members get their mitts on the game this Friday and beyond, I'll update the list below with their numbers, so should they choose to post them in this thread. Until then, play random matches, they don't need codes. Have fun!

My mains will be Zero and legends Megaman Smilie
Hope it arrives soon, I'm dying to play it.

w00t mine too Smilie Highly doubt it will get here tomorrow unless it's under special delivery. Most probably friday/saturday. Would be wickedly sweet if it came today Smilie

I'll probably be maining Roll. Smilie

I should have ordered from ZavviSmilie, anyways this will be awesome. The only thing that I'm annoyed about is that they took out all the characters theme songs during fights. The songs were one of the best things about the original Japanese version.

Anyways I'll add most of you on Friday.
Smilie

You guys are lucky, I think I ordered mine too late so it won't be dispatched till tommorow. Hopefully it will still arrive friday or saturday cause then I can take it round superlinks and my other mates house Smilie

Awww man Smilie The themes sound epic, esp Ryu! So what tunes are in their place?

I wonder what theme they would have gave Zero? Probably his theme from X3 or the Departure song from Megaman Zero 2?

I really love that song >>

From what I've heard the music has been replaced by crappy Jazz music which is stage specific. It's a shame really but I heard they had to take out the Tatsunoko characters themes due to licensing issues. So I guess they didn't just want Capcom characters to have themes but I don't think anyone would mind =P

Me too, I'm listening to it right now.Smilie

That guy is an absolute fag! Smilie

I'll try and convince one of my Wii-owning chums to pick up this game. Would be nice if a proper Street Fighter game came out on Wii, though. I find these Vs games a bit too hectic. Marvel Vs Capcom 2 is fucking nuts for that.

All the character themes have been replaced due to licensing issues, the same applies to the animated endings. The latter have been replaced with crappy Udon stills.

Also missing is the beautiful animated intro from the Japanese original, that's been replaced with the worst intro I've seen on a Capcom fighter.

I ordered from Play.com and its been posted. I think its more likely a saturday delivery for me, so i've taken Saturday off to play it! Hee hee!

Defo can't wait to play although i tend to suck at Beat em ups tho. Either way im sure i can beat u all! mwahaha

Capcom VS Power Rangers FTW!

I'm going to get it from GAME or Cex on friday, which ever one's cheapest, I'm going to get a classic controller aswell, seeing as I don't want my GC controllers to be any more knackered than they are.

Ordered it from Zavvi (<£18!!) like a lot of people. I sure hope they send it out today Smilie Otherwise I may be waiting 'till Monday or longer.

Can't wait! Just pretty annoyed at all the stuff that's been left out, like the character themes and the animes. D:

My copy from Zavvi got posted yesterday so I'm hoping I get it tomorrow.

Smilie

I'm hoping my copy will arrive tomorrow, Zavvi dispatched it yesterday.

It's unlikely, but there's a chance that some of us may get that comic book with it, like the one that guy got in that video I posted up. HMV have been sending them out with pre-orders of the game, yet their website mentions nothing about it.

I AM SO HYPED! I can wipe the dust off my wii finally and stop playing tekken 6 Smilie i just hope zavvi delivers tomorrow or i might have to buy it from gamestation.

Wish i knew about that collectors addition would have loved that comic

Don't really like comic books much but it'd be a nice collectors item to have so I hope we do get the book, but I won't be dissapointed if I don't recieve it.

Didn't come early Smilie Well lets hope that it arrives tomorrow Smilie.

Annoying thing is, they say it's going to take between 3-5 days for delivery...so why do they only post it 2 days before release? Logic much?

Going to Stratford tomorrow to get my copy and a classic controller pro. I'm going to give my dad a game on his black Wii.

It's been getting some really good reviews, has an average of 86 atm on Metacritic.

The reviewer pronounces Ryu as Raiyou...
