Q. ...Okay, what's this about then?
This, good sir, is the official thread (well dur) for the latest game in Capcom's crossover Fighting Series, Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate All Stars. It is currently on release in the US, and will be with us in Europe within a few short days as of writing this paragraph. I felt it deserved an official thread in respect to Capcom's licensing efforts to get it over here in the first place, the rave reviews it is currently getting, and of course because it has Viewtiful Joe.
Q. Tatsunoko? What's that, some kind of glandular disease?
No, you fool. Tatsunoko, or Tatsunoko Production, to give it its full name, is an Animation Company based in Japan, and the holder of many popular licenses both in their homeland and overseas, including Neo Human Casshern, Samurai Pizza Cats, and Neon Genesis Evangelion. Many of their main properties are represented in this game by their lead characters.
Oh, and if you feel the need to ask me who Capcom are, you deserve a good kicking.
Q. Woah, steady on! Fine, what else can you tell me about this game?
Well, where do we start? Okay, first up, it's a Wii exclusive; and to any 360/PS3-only owners whining about not having it, I say Shut Up, you have Street Fighter 4 already.
As mentioned, TvC is next in the line of Vs Crossover games, and considering the last one was Marvel vs Capcom 2, that should provide a little hint about the game's quality. 2 on 2 battles are the norm here, with all the dazzling flares, explosions, and fancy moves you could ever want to see.
TvC is indeed playable with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk combo, but traditionalists need not feel left out, as there is Classic and Gamecube Pad support too. Oh, and also for this (not-so-little) beauty too.
An online mode, which reportedly works a lot better than Smash Bros Brawl's does (thank the lord), and a special top-down shooter Minigame named Ultimate All-Shooters, will keep those fists flying for a while. But enough from me, here's a video to whet your appetite;
Q. Wow, it looks great! Okay, I'm definitely interested now, anywhere I can buy it for cheap?
Hmmm, cheapo eh. Fair doos. Currently, Zavvi have the best offer on, at 17 Pounds and 95 pence, but if thread readers want to chime in with better discoveries, they are more than welcome.
[From a week in the Future] Q. Hey again, thanks for telling me about TvC, I love it! Last Question though, I need bloomin friend codes for C3 matchups, any takers?
Woah, woah, hold it Marty McFly, getting a bit ahead of ourselves there! When more C3 members get their mitts on the game this Friday and beyond, I'll update the list below with their numbers, so should they choose to post them in this thread. Until then, play random matches, they don't need codes. Have fun!
