for me it looks like a welcomed change. although the prime games are good i found there was to much emphasis on the exploration and not enough on action. other M looks to have sort that.

Considering we have seen so little game play, it's really hard to say. I do like the Prime games (playing through trilogy currently) and I also love the 2D Games. This could be brilliant, or it could flop. But knowing Nintendo, they won't let one of thier major franchises/series crash and burn so easily - So i'm expecting a pretty awesome and well polished game.
It's way too early for me, or really anyone else, to judge the actual quality of the game. I will say, though, that the statement about Team Ninja working on the most powerful console doesn't seem to be true at all - they've developed for the 360 and DS, neither of which is the most powerful console in their respective areas on the market.
Too early for me too.
But I like the exploration aspex, and wont get this if it was just a beat em up.
Since Metroid kind of returns to its roots, I welcome it. Hell, the Prime-titles are amongst my all-time-favourites, so I am not against it. I like both sides, thou, experiencing how brillant Metroid and Super Metroid (and the GBA offsprings) plays - still today!
