So i have a second copy of HL2

Righty-ho folks.

I recently (well, a few months ago) bought the orange box. In which i got a 'gift copy' of HL2. And as i havent really had any use for it at all i figured i may aswell give it to someone here. So i though maybe a competition or whatever was in order. But having no ideas I decided i'd just throw up a thread and see if anyone has any suggestions.

As far as i know its a full copy of the game, all you'd need is a Steam account (Which, correct me if im wrong, you can make for free.) and a computer. Technical specs below (Not that its a taxing game)

# Processor: 1.2 GHz Processor
# OS: Windows, 2000/XP/Me/98
# Graphic card: DirectX 7 level graphics card
# Hard Drive: 4.5 GB
# Memory: 256 MB RAM
# Other: Internet Connection, DVD-ROM Drive

Im sure alot of people will already have it in one form or another but if you don't, its one of the best FPS experiences there is, aswell as the flood of user developed content (including popular and free online games, such as Pirates Vikings and Knights, and the legend that is garrys mod.) If you already have it, dunno, maybe enter and rthen if you win pick who it goes too, not sure, thats why im posting here!

My computer demolishes all those specs, but it's sadly equipped with Fail OS (Linux).

Yeah, im pretty sure every single person here has a computer that will run it.

Im pretty sure its possible to run it on Linux. I know you can run steam on it. And as you'd just do a download of it (obviously not sending CD's out.). Not sure. But still, anyone got anyh suggestions?

Usually the simplest things are the best, how about a mini-essay (100 words or so) saying why you want the game?

I've also never understood how you know if your graphics card is good enough to run a game, is there a system to it?

For competitions? Maybe like an MS Paint compo with some sort of theme?

Cheese, is your graphics card older than five years? If not, it should be fine.

If you've bought a computer in the last 5 years, it'll probably run this at decent settings. It's also aged amazingly well (In my opinion, especially with the engine updates from EP1 and2) Also, i just checked, you can run HL2 on Linux using WINE i think.

Not sure about an essay. Maybe though, see what other people say.

Maybe restrict it to people who haven't actually played Half-Life 2, yet? This will rely on the honesty of the forum goers, so I guess it's a shit idea. I've played it through twice already (once on Xbox, once on Xbox 360), so I'm not that bothered about playing it again on my PC.

Yeah. I wasn\'t sure because of the fact i assume most people have played Hl2, so maybe people wanna play it on an alternate platform. (As this is a mostly console gaming community.) but we\'ll see who else replies and who has it. If not many people has it i\'ll say only people who don\'t already own it.

I own 2 copies of the orange box, and 3 copies of TF2. Mind lending me a 3rd copy of HL2?

I have a Vista laptop with awesome RAM, a modern standard graphics card, and I've just about finished Half-Life 1...haven't gotten to the expansions though.

I have nothing to give except for some emulators, some pirated awesome games, and a few Type-Moon VNs.
