I like the grass he has going. Can I ask what the intention of this engine is, Graeme? Is it something you're aiming at future PCs or consoles or none of the above?
Doesn't reeeally have a particular aim other than learning.
Ivory Tower from Halo 2?
Beautiful work as always Knighty!
Looks like a mix of the original Halo 2 version and the Reach one. The one on Reach has no trees.
Yeah I sort of remember. For sure there's no trees on the Reach version, though.
HDR biatches.

wow that's awesome, what program are you using?

I am an engine programmer It's all been made by myself in C++ in Visual Studio, using DirectX. And I use Maya/Photoshop/Gimp when I'm doing artwork.

Just a head up: in the FPS type Demo video, between 27 - 33 seconds the gun disappears.
roughly at 29 seconds, it does, and also at 37 - 39.

I know.
*Jaw/Floor* As always knighty, amazing. Though I must note that the HDR vid demo has a Lionhead feel to the whole thing Still, its amazing how far you work has come in the few years you've started, and also how much you've learnt!
Are you hoping your platform will be used for games or are you going to use this as a portfolio like thing to get a job at a studio?

I remember a 2D game Knighty made, some years back. Had a really nice look to it and played like a Metroid style game, from what I can remember.
Even that was decent though, but your work has come along very far. Well done.
I worked on Metroid Prime 2D "back in the day" when I was the only programmer and before it became a mess of 50 different art styles. Maybe that's what you were thinking of. I also did a, as far as I'm concerned, pixel perfect remake of the start of Super Metroid for one of my first year modules. I wish I could find where I stored it....I'll upload it if I find it =p And thanks guys.
I'm mainly doing this as fun/learning. No particular goal right now.
edit: Aha, found it. http://www.graemepollard.com/Super_Metroid.zip
Press F4 to go to fullscreen. There's a readme inside with controls and stuff.
edit 2: Holy crap this is a blast from the past. http://www.graemepollard.com/SpaceInvaders.exe I made this in my 2nd week at Uni, an ascii, console based Space Invaders

Okay. it's still amazing
Hmm, maybe I'm thinking of someone else. It definitely wasn't anything to do with Metroid Prime. It was an original game.
I was very sure it was you though.
Superb job on the Super Metroid game. I'd say it looks pixel perfect, as well.
I think I know the one Marzys talking about. If I remember rightly, there were a couple of rooms to go through.
You also had that Geometry Wars style thing.
Some lighting screenshots.
