I cant believe you guys actually let other people use your stuff. When I go off to Uni next year, all my games/laptop/tv/everything will be staying in my room and my room only. I don't expect to use other people's stuff, they can't expect to use mine. People are generally cunts, even people who you may be friendly with.

Yeah, I don't let anybody use my stuff. Anybody. Even friends unless I'm playing video games with them. The way I see it, if something is going to break, I'd rather be mad at myself than anyone else.

So get your super expensive stuff out of there and keep your room locked. They clearly have no respect for the stuff you've payed hundreds of pounds for.

Christ, aren't we a negative bunch? There's no need to go completely overboard with distrust and the all people are cunts thing. To be honest I generally find the opposite - most people are alright, a minority are cunts.

Just use your judgement. If all that crap had to happen BEFORE you moved your stuff out of the living area then it is, at least partially, your fault.

If you live in student accommodation, as I did last year, at some point you're going to have to realise that you do , in fact, live with students, who by their very nature are unreliable, drunk and occasionally when they come in from a night out will want to 'share' some of your food stores.

There's no point in getting bitter over it, it happens. Next time you're out of milk or cheese or whatever, just nip into their cupboard and get your own slice of the pie.

As for the whole washing up debacle, it's really a bit of a non-issue for me. Students will always be students and not wash up, no matter what university, city, country or continent. Nothing you do will change that so just grab whatever's available and use it. If there's nothing clean, it's take next to no time to wash up a plate/saucepan.

Of course they have no right to break your stuff but you should have the common sense to take all your expensive/breakables back to your room if you don't want any damage cause to them.

I'm gonna try not to take too many expensive items when I go to Uni. At least not in the first couple of terms, until I get to know the people I'm living with.

The most valuable things I'll be bringing is a Strat and a Blues Junior amp which will stay in my room at all times, and a laptop. If anyone uses them, I will wank in their cereal.

I'll give them a warning though. Just to be fair. Smilie

When I go Uni all im taking thats valuable to me is:
Tv
PC
Laptop
Wii (xbox if i get one)

thats pretty much the damageable goods.
Im gonna live simplistic and keep all my possesions in my room at all times by the sound of it Smilie

So is this a common occurrence, ie, girls being bitches? Or is Takeo just an unlucky fucker?

To get a taste for college life, me and a mate stayed in a college dorm for two weeks during the summer. Just some program set up by the university. I didn't bring anything expensive, but one chap brought his laptop which we used for dvd's and the likes. Pretty decent experience, we all shared food and never washed up, ended up using the cardboard pizza boxes as plates for the pizzas and we kept every tea bag we ever used in the kitchen, thus creating a massive pyramidSmilie I guess its a game of luck.

Do the majority of people in Britain stay on campus? The university I plan on going to is about 1 1/2 hours by bus, so don't see a point in paying for accommodation. On campus accommodation in Ireland is mainly reserved for those coming from rural and further away areas.

Most people in the UK do in the first year, mainly because you find out where you\'re going a month before you go there...

Most people don\'t live locally.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

Happened with my beloved oblivion disk, still works...just

Happened with my cousin he borrowed one of my games (can't remember which one) so I borrowed his harry potter game a dug into the disc with a pen. Didn't work ever again.

I cant believe you guys actually let other people use your stuff.

Easier said than done, what happens one day you run out of something (which WILL happen eventually, food, tissue paper, etc) and you need to ask them for some, what do you think there going to say?

just nip into their cupboard and get your own slice of the pie.

What happens if they never have anything?

I've heard all the stories for my mates and have had experiences like this before. All I can say is get revenge it WILL make you feel better. Break their hair straightners, (they will go mad say u saw her friend using it) destroy their make-up (put the chilli in the make-up it will be brilliant!:lolSmilie Girls are very easy to manipulate (use one against the other, usually side with the most dominant girl of the three, shes bound to bitch about the other 2 girls to you so embrace it and take advantage of her).
