It's smoothness is nice but I still don't sit well with the graphics. It could just be the video quality, but they look "bitty". Hard to describe.
Its looking like a dayone purchase for me. Can't wait to hear more about the multiplayer.
Well to be brutally honest I am not that impressed now, the more I see of it, the more dull and generic it looks. Aside from that, I have come to the conclusion that a top developer needs to create such a engine for Wii with the required investment, and then leave others to use and tweak it.
I just see too many things in the game that look weak from a graphical standpoint. I commend the effort that has gone into this game but I still think it looks very under par. It\'s destined to be when they try to attain current gen graphical effects over style on Wii.
On the a positive note, the controls look fantastic and that will be great for Wii in the long run.
I have no reason to get this game when I can get better and fresher games minus the controls on other platforms. I still hope that it does well for a few reasons. Primarily as a light to other developers to take what they see as risks on Wii.

The environmental textures don't look too hot. You knoow the graphics are alright, but I don't see why everyone is going ape-shit over them. Although I do like the customization in the game.
Not overly concerned about the style, its just nice to see a Wii developer taking the system seriously. Fine tuned precision controls, online mode with voice chat etc. I'll support them just for the effort they're putting in.
iCame -- I agree that outside environment textures aren't overly impressive. I think it looks pretty slick indoors though.
I think the developers have done well considering what they've had to use and the funds they had before sega was their publisher. I think the character/enemy models look good aswell as the guns. I also think the game will have more of a puzzle element to it than most typical shooters, and I think that the ASE will work well into the game.
The engine that they've created could put a whole lot of potential into the Wii if they sold it to other developers aswell.
I can't wait to see what the online is like.

It\'s the video quality. You can see it in other Sega videos/trailers. Watch it in the full size and it comes out better.

If they use this engine they are just going to be showing the market the huge gulf in quality ther is. The Wii should not be making games that imitate poorly true current gen games IMO. Instead I think it should have games that are unique to the system and have stylized graphics.

That's true, their video compression looses some quality, but not that much. Even in HQ these textures, if you can call them that, look very bad in places. That's part of the problem with this game. Why try to create poor imitations of next gen effects at the cost of a huge chunk of the game having to drop the veil so low?. It's not worth it imo...

What's wrong with nice looking Wii games? Wii games are quite capable of looking nice without needing a stylized presentation. I'll take a nice looking game with Wii controls any day of the week. Just because the 360 does it better, doesn't mean the Wii can't do it well.
No one seems pissed that RE4 isn't cell shaded.

This is not a nice looking Wii game in my eyes, it does not do it well at all for me. All the minor - weak effects they have been able to push in this engine have come at the cost of having to run terrible looking textures in the environment. I have seen better on God of War PSP.
So will I, but I won't be playing another generic shooter which seems to offer nothing really new apart from great looking controls. The story and gameplay looks destined to be run of the mill early 200X stock. I get that impression every time I look at the game. Also, that advert has now embedded The Matrix into my mind since I saw it, lol. That's not a good thing, it only adds to the generic feel.
Why did they use a voice actor that sounds like that dude?, because they want to attribute the game to a great sci fi series. Why does the game look so generic?, because the makers need to sell this game to the most Wii owners they can given their investment in the engine.
It may well be a fun game for some, but it wont be one I buy. By today's standards in FPS to say this game is dated is a understatement given the advances elsewhere in the genre. When they show some of those effects I am surprised they are showcasing them when they look the way they do. I want to play new and exciting games within every genre, apart from the controls nothing at all here seems new to me.
That's a bizarre last comment.
Totally agree Linkyshinks. Starred. I feel that they have made a very good effort but it isn't enough. How long are we into the wii's lifetime and were only seeing our second (Red Steel first and FFS it was a launch title) decent FPS now? Compare that to the other platforms and consider that the Wii has the perfect FPS controls. It's BS I'm telling ya. Grats to High Voltage but I think I'll pass.
Yeah its a shame really, the Wiimote is perfect for FPS. Maybe they can go more for a Team Fortress / XIII cel-shaded look, to hide imperfections. Really I think that is the only way for the Wii to get away with good looking games.
Cel Shading can be quite demanding, and although TF2 looks pretty simple I can assure you there's a lot more to its looks than you may think.
Anyway, the main problem with the Conduit as Craig said is the lack of decent texture filtering, and of course there's no AA and it's so low res.....It still looks good though, but anyone who sits there and praises this and yet bashes something like Halo (which is probably about 95% of the Nintendo community) can just feck off.

You're probably directly referring to me here since my last blog was me expressing displeasure with halo. Again though, I think the controls can/do make a big difference.

Lol it's funny I don't like Halo (dunno just something didn't appeal to me I found it all a bit meh ) but I like every other good 360 FPS other there.
