They don't stock games anymore, aside from the old PS2 ones.

Nice - supermarkets are cheeky!
I don't think there seems to be a major problem with the racing lines, you still have the classics - it seems more like Mario Kart GP Arcade to me
Thats a good thing, I loved Mario Kart GP Arcade.
Shame there's no pacman.
New article on ign about the online saying no one got an online version, which basically makes all the reviews dodgy, and they still get info wrong in the new article, saying you can't install the Mario Kart Channel on the wii, which I did last night.
So I wouldn't take any reviews that don't talk about the online a lot too seriously as they might not have played/experienced a large part of the game.
I'm looking forward to the 'competitions' when they're released.
Squeek I am thinking exactly the same thing, they are ALL dodgy given the lack of playing a fully fledged retail versions with all the capabilities functional. That also includes the competitions and other content via the MK Channel.
It\'s shoddy game journalism if all these early reviews have not tested the online functionality, very shoddy indeed!.
So LS, what are you doing about the Mario Kart/Brawl dilemma?
It's been the only thing on my mind all week unfortunately

Well I should point out Play-Asia\'s did not work not because of any update, but instead the actual Wii discs themselves. Now, the question is are they going to imput this code into ALL future updates as well, if that\'s at all possible. I say If because maybe it can only be blocked via coding on the discs. If it is the latter you can bet all future Wii games will have this code quirk that prevents the Freeloader form working, at least until Datel find a solution via SD card.
I am getting the game in the morning and loading it after inserting my Freeloader in twice. Come what may!, there is no way I am going to avoid future updates, there is far too much I am looking forward to including Wii Ware. Be prepared to sell you copy of the game if it is blocked via an update.
I would really like to know what Codemasters and Datel have to say. I have emailed them in the past about the Freeloader and their PR replied but today for whatever reason you cannot submit emails!. It\'s all looking a little dubious.
PS
I tried to get a copy earlier, I actually had my hands on it\'s ickle box but the bitch behind the counter would not let me have it.
( Edited 10.04.2008 16:10 by Linkyshinks )OK, well, since I will not be playing Mario Kart until I know it doesn't stop the Freeloader from working with other games (i.e. it doesn't stop me playing Brawl) then I'd like as much feedback as possible from people who are trying it.
Chances are, Brawl will be out in PAL before any more big Wii releases come out, it's just Mario Kart & that's it that I want for the time being... I know I can't stop it, but I will until Brawl comes out PAL, that's for sure. I'm not desperate for Wiiware at all, so I can wait that out too.

Well that seems like a logical thing to do, for you anyway.
Apologies for swearing but I quite frankly fucking love the look of Bowster Castle!. I think it\'s going to be a fantastic track online, as well as Koopa Cape and Dry Dry Dessert
No freeloader blocking this time round
http://www.findinternettv.com/Video,item,3348383417.aspx
It sure seems to work... but a few things caught my eye.
1. First of all, why did the icon appear as a GC game every time he loaded the freeloader?
2. Secondly, in the video description it mentioned Wiikey. From my time on SmashBoards, I know that Wiikey is some sort of program that allows you to play import Wii games.
I think I\'ll wait for more info from other C3 members who actually get Mario Kart TBH.
( Edited 10.04.2008 19:03 by SuperLink )K SuperLink, we'll let you test it
I've been playing my copy that arrived today, and this possibly is the worst one-player Mario Kart to date. None of the new tracks feel up to scratch. I am yet to take it online though, which could be the saving grace of the game. At the moment it feels like a 6 and the courses give me no inspiration to go Wi-Fi. Oh, and the controls are pretty shoddy.
So Brawl still works? Lol and my frend was gonna buy it. We played 2day as a last time thing lol! Unlucky him! I wudve got Mario Kart nyway.
God, dodgy sites trying to get hits over everyone else by posting reviews without properly playing the game. God, there's so much rivalry these days!
Just added a Wi-Fi themed Mario Kart hub folks! Will properly jazz up the place tommorow I hope!

Once I have Mario Kart & Smash Bros together... one's life shall be complete, except for Pikmin 3.
Hey Sl, u need not fear, I will also be getting Mario Kart. i can tell ya too. Ur pretty much covered
Yep, you, jb and LS all getting Mario Kart... and risking so much. I'll give each of you a star (or two!) if you tell me if Brawl still works before 2PM tomorrow >=D
You see I am going on holiday... and I must know if I can safely play Mario Kart... or if I should leave it at home in a cupboard until Autumn.

SuperLink activated scapegoat, he summoned a jb, a BrawlBumBoy and a Linkyshinks token.
9.00am people!, that's when my Brawls dies
I suppose the ideal situation for US Brawl owners would be for the MKWii disc to just install a common mini-update for the game, like most Wii games do now. They don't tend to change the firmware version, like a proper update.
If Brawl still works, you'll have it for many more months
To be honest, I'm relieved that I didn't import because I would be worrying all the time.
Well, like I said before, Mario Kart is my last worry... I just need to know if it works without breaking Brawl, and if it does, I\'ll be very happy... because I don\'t plan on getting any other Wii games for some while, except maybe Okami, which prolly won\'t have an update on it
EDIT: Got Mazza Kazza. So someone quickly tells me if it breaks the Freeloader so I can play it!
( Edited 11.04.2008 09:21 by SuperLink )YAY got my 2 copies of MKwii and i was very impressed at the turn out at my local GAME, around 40 peeps queuing when i got there and about another 25 in the queue when i left.
them servers are gunna crash for sure
I'm just waiting for the postwoman to arrive with my copy. I keep looking out the window for her, hopefully she'll come soon.
I'm so excited, last night I couldn't get to sleep. So I switched on my Wii and watched an episode of Bargain Hunt on the iPlayer. It sure helped put me to sleep.
