Wasnt that etched in the back of the first edition of the Bible. In Hebrew too.

It's good that the work has been put in to single player. As should be with a Metroid game. It would be nice if there were some sort of online capabitlies, just so Nintendo could flex some muscles - ie, downloadable contect, visors, guns, one off levels.

PS I really enjoyed Metroid DS. I thought it was a really good game and enjoyed it lots. For such a small machine credit due where its deserved.

I think multiplayer online could work very well for this Metroid game and am still very much hoping it will have a online mode befitting of the title.

The new "advanced control" option is perfect for bringing it into the online arena. The accuracy is there, one that rivals K&M according to some, who also say it controls like a classic FPS. There is also simple controls that are intuitive controls for the player, with B= jump and A= shoot. The fact that you can now jump and turn your aim simultaniously makes a huge amount of difference also, and provides more agility to the main character, something which would work very well for any online experience.

This is a new Metriod game not a old one, it does not need to chain itself to the lackings of the previous games.

I look foward to a multiplayer experience in this game whether it is online or not. I am confident after reading loads of material that Retro want to bring that experience competantly into the Metroid series.

I will wait for Nintendo and Retro to provide confirmation, and not hearsay from CVG. [LS]

It's already been stated about a dozen times by Retro themselves that there'll be no online MP, buthave expressed interest in using WC24 for extra content.

Where does it say that?, show me one link- [LS]

The fact that both their games were good, suggests that Retro are not retards, which suggests that there will not be an online multiplayer in MP3. This is conclusive enough for me.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

Well maybe you, but not me. He said above that Retro themeselves had confirmed no multiplayer which is currently simply not true. [LS]

Is the source of this thread, a article from 2003!- read down the page-

But if Nintendo pressurise them as probably happened with MP2...

Metroid Interview

This is a new interview where it states clearly that there will be no online multiplayer.

Metroid Interview:

GamePro: Will Metroid Prime 3 have any online modes?

Michael Kelbeugh: No. It's something we talked about early on, but we only have so many resources. We opted to devote those resources to making a better single-player experience.

Cool fair enough, thanks for posting the link. I just thought that this thread was based on a 2003 article in CVG as I posted above. It's a shame that the last title wont have it, but that's not to say it cannot work on Wii. Wherever they take the next Metroid series I sincerly hope it will have a online experience. That article does not rule out multiplayer split screen. [LS]

Metroid Trilogy Wii Edition MP1 and MP2 reworked for Wii?

If Nintendo came to you and said, "We really liked the Prime series, and we want to a boxed set of all three games, but we'd need you to adapt the first two games to the Wii-mote." How long would it take to adapt those old games to the Wii-mote?

Oh, you're talking about code that's six, seven years old, so I can't answer that without diving into it.

Though for the Tokyo Game Show, a couple years ago, we did take Metroid Prime 2 code and adapt it to the Wii controller, and that took a couple months. But to really do it right, and really incorporate all the features of MP1 and MP2, it would take a while. It's just hard to really answer that without diving into it.

It's a great idea, though.

Shit, I forgot about that. Nintendo definitely are retarded. Smilie

There surely can't be any now though, so close to release, they must almost be printing them off.

The only way multiplayer metroid might work is if it is structured like Zelda's Four swords series where players must work together to complete puzzles whilst a competitive element still remains. Im sick of people wanting Metroid to be turned into Halo, Its not a shooter its an adventure game that just happens to have a gun in it.

-Have you any idea what it's like to be a Fembot living in a Manbot's Manputer's world?
-What?

As far as I kow they weren't pressurised, and they at least tried to make it a lil different (mainly thanks to morphball stuff).

Some very old footage from E3 that most probably still stands now, jsut to be tiding over with, seeing as some people have a lack of knowledge about the game.

Federation ship walkthrough:

Planet:

There should be the opening cut scene on that, shows samus cool looking ship adn a GF guard talking (actual voice acting) to her.

Also, from here:

Play: Is there anything you were unable to execute on the GameCube in Prime 1 and 2 that has now become possible?

MP: Something on the design side that was important to us was being able to make larger environments that have more things going on. We try to tell the story through the way the player travels through the game, and having these larger environments where the player can see farther and see things interacting with each other is something we couldn’t have done on GameCube. Metroid Prime is a traversal sort of game, so the environments have to be very interesting and very different to keep the players interested in walking around. So now we’re able to make these huge, expansive environments and have more things going on on-screen at the same time.

MK: We were really able to expand on the audio too. We have voice-over in this game, and the score is much more dramatic. So we really put a lot of effort into making the audio a much broader experience.

Play: The ambient soundtrack was one of the more controversial aspects of Metroid Prime 2. This one seems a lot more intense.

MK: Yeah, this one is kind of like Ben-Hur. It’s very in-your-face dramatic. We explained to [long-time Metroid series composer] Mr. [Kenji] Yamamoto that’s what we wanted to do, and that’s more his style actually, or more his preference. And once he knew that we were on board for that, he was very happy, and as a result, we got just an amazing score.

Play: So if Corruption is the conclusion of the trilogy, will this be the final game with the “Prime” moniker?

MK: We knew from the beginning that this would be a three-part trilogy, and this would be the final Prime title. It was nice to know from the outset, in terms of planning the storyline and what have you. This is the end of the Metroid Prime storyline. I’m sure that you’ll see Samus and the Metroid franchise in some form or another. There’s no way Nintendo’s going to write it off and pull a Captain America on Samus. But we’re taking a break from the franchise.

Play: Well if you guys are leaving the series, I’m going to have to insist that you first bring Metroid Prime 1 and 2 out on the Wii, on a single disc. Call it Metroid Prime Saga, beef it up, add the new controls…

MK: Saga, OK.

Bryan Walker (Senior Producer): [Laughs] You want a royalty for that?

Play: I wouldn’t say no. But a producer credit would be fine.

BW: You’ll get as much as I get.

MK: [Laughs] A pat on the back. Maybe a lunch.

Play: Great! We’ll be looking forward to Metroid Prime Saga then, as well as Metroid Prime 3 Corruption.

Well they did a bit in the first place, just angular instead of curvy... And not purple

I honestly don't see how anyone who's played MP2 (Which surely everyone has by now...) could think multiplayer in Metroid is a good idea... MP2's multiplayer was a case of 'Who can get the Super Missile/Annihilator Beam first!?'. The power beam and Metroid weapons in general are just rubbish for multiplayer

Myeah, they still seem to have an emphasis on a fair bit of back tracking, but everything else seems a bit more ambitious and all the better for it.

Oh thank God, I hate those damn four or five-part trilogies...

I'm interested to hear the music though. I always thought it was pretty good in MP 1 and (to a lesser extent) 2 ((Although the Torvus Bog music was great... Because it was from Super Metroid :rollSmilie so I'm not sure I like the idea of an 'in-your-face dramatic' score... We'll see though, it could turn out amazing.

From what I've heard... on the Fed Ship, the music is quite nice. I am glad Retro is taking a break after this and working something else. I don't want to see their talent wasted on the same game.

NSMB pwnd Metroid Prime Hunters in terms of playability anyway. Even storyline. NSMB had a storyline so classic it felt sort of nostalgic. MPH's story was just generic & boring.

NSMB had no story... who are you kidding. Bowser Jr kidnaps Princess Peach and you have to rescue her.

I really hope they do a Metroid Prime Trilogy Boxset, possibly updated for Wii Controls, definitely souped up a tad...in a box which looks similar to

as opposed to the Americanized crap we've been getting recently. The Idea of being able to play through the entire thing on Wii, in one (HUUUUUGE) sitting is rather appealing.

Still a better story than MPH's dull generic save the galaxy storyline Smilie

I mean, they're both generic, but when it comes down to it, NSMB's story is so classic it brings a tear to One's eyes :cooldude:

No, not really, but still. :cooldude:

But you'd have to change disks in between games, which would make it no different to playing the GC versions of the first 2...
