The Wii is a fantastic console and one that continues to outsell the 360 despite only the recent shipment just hitting the U.S as of yesterday, the fact it is outselling the 360 and PS3 during shortages is amazing and speaks highly of its continuing SUCESS, hardly a up hill struggle Grumbler.^
I was talking about good games as opposed to watered down shite, I couldnt care less how its selling. Good on them for shifting their demographic so well and making a killing, shame its shifted away from me.

Boo-Hoo! I bought a system without doing market research to see if it has games that I want and now I will complain on the forums because I purchased the wrong console. Whhhaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!

Like I said. Return it. Sell it. Then use the money to buy a PS3/360. Its really that simple. I have done it many times in my life.

Anyhow, I agree with how Capcom is playing the market even though I do not like how they are doing it on all fronts. Just to make a correction, they are making it on 360 for the American market, the main game is being developed for PS3 hardware.

This is the same reason that by someones logic about "Wii is inferior so they put it on 360" is that if that was true, why did they put RE4 on Cube instead of the more powerfull X-Box by your logic?

Solution. Microsoft sucks in Japan.

You are missing the point here - I am stating my reaction to this - and all you have to say is "Capcom owes you nothing"

which I said - was fine. But thats not what this thread was started about. Its a bit biased to people who feel similar to UC's new direction - but also for those to state why it still could be a promising game.

Or maybe I should just listen to you and not talk about things I do/do not agree with -- Last I checked that was the meaning of this board? Or discussions in general for that matter?

Going back to my first post - I showed the two statement they made that don't support each other -- most didn't even read what was written. But thats what the thread is really ABOUT - not so much this.

Capcom japan up until very recently did not make games to applease the U.S market, they made Lost Planet to rectify their earlier standpoint because of the now prevolent 360 market.

Capcom have a long running relationship with Nintendo, that's why it was never released on the XBrick.

People who know Capcom, know they released it on CUBE above all other's as a way of honouring that relationship, such things are very much valued in japan sidepocket.

Nintendo made their company truly flourish, not arcade games made for U.S soldiers. LS

Yea. I think MS has really made the US-development scene huge. Games come out in the US first (before Japan!) alot of the time now. If you told me ten years ago that a main Zelda game would debut in the US, I would laugh in your face.

Very good point!

Hmm, do you think this could be the answer for the slack in UK/AU? For there to be a PAL console?

Am I the only one who likes the way Umbrella Chronicles is goingSmilie

In my view, RE4's gameplay style should stay with it, and not be replicated so quickly. Its part of what makes that game so unique. U.C seems to be more of a test-the-waters title at this point anyway. If enough people snap it up, RE5 or 6 on wii in the future wouldn't surprise me.Smilie

Yeah so? If I had one it would be because there wasn't much to complain about.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

Well my Mom is excited for this game, but then again she dose not represent the majority of the market that may like this game.

Nuff said really. Mothers SHOUDNT be excited for Resident Evil games! If they are gona dumb down the controls then this game is gona suck so much. Like Oni said Time crisis/VirtuaCop Resi DOES NOT WORK! It was awful when it was released along with the light gun on the PS1 and it will continue the suck for the sheer fact they cannot make it work without it turning all cartoony and into a bad horror film filled with cliches, disavowing all of the qualities in the resi series.

I must say Mista i agree with some aspects of the above comment.

In respect to UC and RE series as a whole Capcom should be broadening their creativity by approaching these games in new ways, otherwise they may well be criticsed for being stagnant.

Yes RE4 had great mechanics and if it was replicated on Wii in similar form it would go down well by most, but with this new approach they are essentially setting themselves a much harder task, one that i think requires them to redefine the on rails shooter.

I am confident Capcom above all are capable of doing so.

Capcom would have surely known that criticism would levelled at them for this new direction they decided upon.

I doubt they would have made such a decision lightly if they were not certain they could pull it off.

Capcom are notorious for rehashing old games, it's about time they tried to do something new and inventive with gameplay mechanics that are barely touched upon in console form such as the on rails shooter.

If the Wii was able to capacitate the Chaos Engine i myself would feel aggrieved, but RE5 is clearly where they want to take the series, and it is not possible on Wii, so in turn i want something new.

To any doubters give this new game and approach to the series a chance, and let Capcom change any pre-concieved ideas you may have about how this game will turn out, they may well surprise all. LS

What's up with the irrelevant pics? They're a bit silly.
