After the DS version with it's all round lackluster appeal i will only buy console versions of this title in future.

Konami blatantly did not release the title to the media here for review in europe in time because of criticisms directed at Winning Eleven in japan- bastards, the concept of Wi-Fi games held so much promise but deliverd F all.

I traded within the week, i wont have crap games as part of my collection and that was badly made, regardless to the DS's shortcomings.

I had expected a well stripped down version, but that game was ridiculous, it fell short on many aspects imo.

A Wii remote and Nunchuk config would be fantastic if implimented well, but well considerd is what they will have to be, as they do not want to tack on novel controls to a well tried and tested formula, but at the same time the possibilities are great.

They have to look at creating genuine improvements upon certain aspects of previous games control schemes, and make them genuinely fun and seamless to use.

I will wait and see what's in store, if it is a dissapointment the 360 version will be unlikely to let you down. LS

this is one of those make or break type games.

Wii has no FIFA. If a football game cant be made to work well, things wont be looking good.

Wii have no FIFA at present, but we will get it right, EA have been supporting the Wii very well.

Madden on Wii has practically sold the Wii across america and FIFA is the euro equivilent.

But yeah all i ask is that they give the title the adequate time and investment it deserves, if they do so the game in some ways can become a franchise of it's own on Wii, they need to think gameplay born from good controls. LS

Hm...I wonder how it controls...

In a lot of ways developing Wii controls for Winning Eleven is going to be harder than the job EA had with Wiifying Madden.

FIFA 08 is confirmed as coming to Wii, by the way...so we'll definitely have our football fix by the year-end, especially with Mario Strikers as well. I just wish that SI would have a change of heart and do a Football Manager game now!

I think the major thing to hope for with a footie game on Wii is no motion-based pass or shoot controls. I'd happily use the nunchuk's motion sensor for feints but the only way the Wiimote should be used is to allow pointing for accurate passing.

To be honest though, I haven't played a footie game for years. I should get Pro Evo for PS2 to see what all the fuss is about.

PES6 is fantastic on the PS2, apart from bits of slowdown here and there. The DS game is 'okay', but is seriously lacking in the flair that makes the home console versions so superb.

If this has a Classic Controller option life will be good...

I hope it does

Lots of potential here.

They should try out the Wiified controls, but as long as classic controller or GameCube controller option is also confirmed.

I am dying for a decent footie title on a Nintendo platform.....fondly remembers the ISS days on the N64.

Wii controls would be a pit pointless for a sport that doesn't use hands.

Only if all you care about are motion-based controls. Like I said, I see a lot of potential in using the pointer functionality to determine where you'd like to pass (although they'd need to put in some kind of fake as in Madden so as not to spoil 2 player).
