I'm a 360 gamer, and I consider Super Metroid to be one of the best 2d looking games ever...

Super Metroid has boring graphics and music, and the powerups are quite predictable and unimaginative. Castlevania feels more random, mysterious and "organic" - if I put my wank hat on.

Super Metroid is still damn good though. It's just all sterile and characterless. You can't just play it and have a mess about, the exploration is much more contrived and, dare I say it, linear.

Super Metroid's soundtrack is amazing!

Yeah, it's about as good as 16-bit sci-fi warbling can be...

This is one game i have never played, i have played the nes version and the rest but never got to play this- so it's a big want on the VC for me. LS
