As I said, less said about it the better for me. I didn't like it, but know other people did. You stay in your corner with Sunshine, and I'll skulk in mine complaining about it.

This looks too great to be true. Beautiful!
I'm probably gonna be up all night watching the trailer over and over.
At last!
Stunning (Standard Def.) graphics on a Wii.
And a relief to those who are unable/unwilling to splash out on an HDTV with, as yet, little to no High Def. broadcasts.
About time Mr Nintendo (but then again, this game can't come soon enough).
I actually think blasting from planet to planet looks really fun. It's quick and action packed, bouncing from pillar to post, giving you a constant change in scenery. Every little floating planet and object you're going to want to explore and experiment with.
It's Mario's world and level archetypes broken up into planets. I absolutely bloody love it!
And seriously - the game looks very visually impressive. The lighting and texture work reflects the starry glow of space, and it all looks very nice. In all honesty, how much better looking would a game of the same visual style look on the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360? Maybe a few snazzy, extra graphical effects, but surely it'd look much the same?
And I love the bit where the apples join up!

I don't understand people's need to do that. It's a great looking game, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't look loads better on PS3 or 360, because it would.
Wow, looks really good. Check out the screen shots. They're gorgeous. Should be fun and very different with the our new wii controls.

*slaps you*
Like he said, it would be renderd sharpert, but Mario's art style prevents him from being more realistic. You cannot make Mario into a visualy impressive GOW brown world, the art of Mario dose not allow for it.
The original poster is right, we would have less jaggies and more bloom. Otherwise, Mario is Mario.
Next time, use your brain instead of spewing buzz words and info the industry has fed you.
I'm going to ask for him - what buzz words?

HD, 1080p, 3 cores, Cell Proccesser, 4D Graphics, Game 3.0, Live Anywere, ect.
They are trying to premote there products, of course they are not going to say "They are better at this than we are."
As a designer who also programs and dose art, all they could do is render the graphics sharper. The geometry and such cannot go any further, because this is how close to the games art style you can get.
I think that is a good thing, it means that they are now just focusing on how the game plays instead of "we should add more bloom and brown on that 2nt core!"
But he didn't use any buzzwords?

Kiddies, kiddies, calm down. It's only a game
Looks great and finally, it looks like we have a 3D Mario game that is a proper interpretation of the 2D platformers.
I was only really a fan of some of the levels in Mario 64, but felt that there was too much "falling away into an infinite abyss". Same goes for the secret levels in Sunshine.
This game looks to offer all the same koopa stomping goodness, crazy platforming and hidden tricks, whilst offering (a slightly bizarre take on) the comforting force of gravity and some nice solid ground.
Can't wait!!!
Right.
I just found it stupid that with all the "it looks great" that someone would just pop out and say "YEA BUT ITS NOT AS GOOD AS 360 OR PS3!!!"
As far as my knowlage, nobody said it looked as good as 360/PS3. It just looks good.
Why do people overcomplicate shit like that?
Wow im in awe! It seems to have everything, great graphics, a nice visual style and a sense of scale that is almost epic and to be fair all Mario games have been awesome nad this looks like its going to follow in the footsteps.
How could it possibly not look better on the 360? How can more polygons, anti aliasing and sharper textures make a game not look better?
There are still visible polygons. Just because it's more simple styled, it doesn't mean it can't look better.
Here we go again!
Game looks great, yep obviously mario would look better on more powerful hardware (you will see proof of that in another 7-8 years ).

WOW me want it now give me game Nintendo!!
this looks pretty freakin sweet dudes!! I wonder if there will be online??
.....
Folks? Nobody said it wouldn't look better running on more powerful hardware - the point was that it wouldn't look a whole lot different. To pull of Mario's art style in 3D, they've got enough power. I don't think they'd really be able to glam up this particular art style much more than this. If they did, as Sidepocket pointed out, they'd have to take the series into the realms of realism, which'd totally ruin Mario's style.
It's the more realistic games where you'll see the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 trump the Wii. Which is all well and good, because that's what most of their developers are pushing for in their games.
Me? I prefer more stylised visuals.

That was weird, the argument kind of went in a circle, until we just repeated Oni's post. It wouldn't look LOADS better, but it would look better.
Anyway, game looks the sex.

This is obviously a one player game, so what will it bring to the game if it had online, thats what im thinking!?!? Apart from puting your scored online or something like that!
Nice job on the triple post. I said "....." because the very thought of Mario online scares me.
