Well I've always thought that the GB is expensive for what it is, but I do think that now the SP is out we have a reasonable deal on the console itself. It looks great ( Smilie ) plus you won't have to splash out extra money on a light and a rechargeable battery (both of which were pretty essential). However, do you think the games are over priced?

In the days of the N64 when games for that costed

Perhaps so, to balance it out somewhat. But, what's the difference though - should something more portable be cheaper, logically - it should. But the games themselves are or reach the standard of home entertainment and maybe should stay where they are at the moment.

I hope a slight price cut is in order, especially with the release of the clever GB Player for the GameCube.

yes. the

They seem over priced but when you think of what there making, it's almost an amazing deal! it's like a DVD only your the main character! They have to program every thing to work as effeciantly as it does... Even though it's machine made now, that's still pretty cool! That's my opinion.

You all know that I am a HUGE fan of the GBA but IMO, the games are

Old Man / Font of all useless knowledge

but do you want

Well i reckon they should sell a lot of them for

I don't think they are overpriced as such, but perhaps they seem a tad small for the price. They are no bigger than about 5cm which seems a tad strange but when you consider the amount of work that goes into them and how long it takes to make a takes for companies to get a title on the shelf the price seems all the more fair. Perhaps with the arrival of the PSP Nintendo might lower the price of GBA titles... Smilie

Trying to think of a witty signature after 'Hacker-gate'...

I don't find the price over expensive, usually i can get

i reckon an RRP price cut of even just a pound would sell more. as if people saw them at just

What, like the way that

Old Man / Font of all useless knowledge

okay, dont you think 28.99 sound better than 29.99 or 30.00? but say

whilst a true point, the carts are produced inn large enough numbers for them to be reasonably cheap. The majority of the cost still goes to Nintendo in the form of licens fee or as huge profit to some company along the line.

a good point. but this is done as there is a lot more profit made on console games than GBA games so therfore shops can remove more money from console games then they can GBA games.

But surely the GBA has a far greater installed user base than the GC? Smilie

yes but i am talking about profit per game sold here. not total.

Sorry, I misinterpreted your earlier post. Did you mean that because the profit margin on GC games is greater than GBA games, there's greater scope for discounting. True, but it still doesn't make any sense that a game costing millions to develop like MPrime, costs the same to buy as MF which will have minimum developing costs in comparison. Especially as there are no 3d routines to run, and companies have been doing 2d for the last 25 years or so.

Also, 2d Metroid has already been done on both NES and SNES, whereas MPrime had the significant task of taking it into the FPAA cat.
