"Touch! Generations is all about stupid slogans like this and the sort of lifestyle ideas that gaming is only just getting to grips with. Like old people and people with breasts."

Dude yuor totally awesome. And i won't be killing you anytime soon.

It's pretty good they have managed to clean up there act, and building the wii brand name on it's own seems like a wise choice. I wonder though if there putting so much effort into this wii name and it becomes a huge brand like Playstation..will they keep it for all future consoles?
Only thing thye need to fix is the ugly NoE website.

indeed, everything is as slick and cute as a greased up midget.

Smilie very good. Anyways, great article, everything said there I have to agree with. It seems today, more than ever, it is aesthetics above many other things which influence our decisions in terms of purchasing. Nintendo have applied a very cunning policy in that they can almost cover the Wii's 'under-powered engine' with an aesthetically pleasing console which suits everyone

I noticed that Nintendo are refraining from calling it the "Nintendo Wii" just the Wii make Nintendo want the consumer to know it's not made by NintendoSmilie

Greesed up magnetic...well, Id have gone with ferofluid myself, which is as cool as the Wii is.

Anyway, a case of reading too deeply here.
Especialy with the ordering of words. I mean the word "feel" is just as important to good gameplay as the word "play".
Surely anything that makes you feel good, is good? Allthough, that too, its reading too deeply.

It could also be said that the last word is the most important one normaly, not the first.

Look at lots of advertising campagns. Normaly they list words and its the last one thats emphasis's not the first.

That also is reading too deeply.
Its just words, put in whatever order they felt like. No real thought gone into it..and nor should they be.

Nintendo is told a bazillion times they are too childish, so when they go for an adult minimalistic style, you still get people complaining.
blah.

Last update; Mice,Plumbers,Animatronics and Airbenders. We also have the socials; Facebook & G+

Not complaining really, its just quite amusing all this lifestyle stuff. Very good, but oh so cliched, everyone is at it...

Trying to think of a witty signature after 'Hacker-gate'...

Nice read.

I think that they also encompass that feel in the DS and Wii logos as well. They all have that 'simple but punchy' feel to them.

Darkflame is right. Nintendo is doing everything wrong, you guys complain and say 'learn from Sony!'. Then they are and you say 'put old chubby Mario back on the pages!' Meh, you are so untrue to yourself and Nintendo!

I love the Hound, but he talks rubbish here. Sure it's marketing the shit out of us all, but
1. I see the tricks
2. They want to catch the 'old one and these with breasts'(!) with clean and smooth webpages.

So why not? They stay true to me as always. Read 'Iwata asks' and I would run through desert and back for Iwata-san, Myiamoto-san and all the small but wonderfully talented guys at Ninty!

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

Now they move, make noise and have lots of flashing shiny things to fool us into thinking they are our friends rather than faceless horrible corporations there only to feel us up and never stay for a cuddle afterwards

Lol, you said it! Nintendo aren't any different and you are completely deluded!

Sorry to break it to ya Smilie

Good article though Smilie

Don't worry Tempo, there are a few people on here that can see the funny side of it.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

when Nintendo don't advertise, we hate on them. and now that they've sorted out "cool clean ads" that cater to demographics and style geeks, we hate on 'em too. Nintendo can't win under these restrictions.

It's cringe-worthy to say the least, and sometimes just absurd, but this whole lifestyle marketing is also the only way forward.

On the plus side Nintendo are doing a far better job than Microsoft, and with Sony AWOL and not even promoting PSP they're pretty well placed in the market.

Well you can't get much worse than the PSP and 360 ad's

Nintendo are just trying to make the Wii look like the must have item and that people wouldnt be seen dead without one. You cant blame them for taking advantage of peoples insercurity. Thats how most products become successful.

Has anyone seen the latest DS magazine adds (can be found in ONM)?
I really dont understand them, its just some random guys face infront of a DS.

-Have you any idea what it's like to be a Fembot living in a Manbot's Manputer's world?
-What?
