UK Chart Highlights LXXIV | Nintendo DS Lite Storms Britain [news]

Did anybody see any UK adverts for the DS Lite??? Or billboard adverts. Nintendo U.K. are sooooooooo lazy. Their Head Honcho deserves to be sacked!

Nice to see hunters on the rise. Had a feelin loco roco wouldn't do so well, games like that have a hard time on the DS here what hope does it have on the PSP format.
OLU1701 the have been showing the DSlite since April or May in the CH4 sponsered adverts.

wow there are tons of Nintendo games up there, what im most suprised about is the fact that Metroid, super monkey ball, sonic rush, tetris, Mario and some others made it back in the chart. Can't wait to see how well New super Mario does, come on first place.

I wanna see the mario bros ad but I aint seen it yet.

I've seen quite a few DS lite adverts in prime-time slots. In-between breaks of Lost, Desperate Housewives and Big Brother.

I don't understand why GTA is so popular. On the PSP it controls like an absolute dog. Even on the PS2 it's a case of do task A, then task B, take objective C to location D etc etc etc.

OK, Vice City had a slick 80s charm and probably some of the best music and voice acting ever heard in a videogame. But really, in terms of gameplay it plays like an absolute dog - particularly the driving sections in rush-hour traffic. Where's the appeal and gameplay fun in that?

I totally agree with you MIS. I own a PSP and i'v eplayed liberty city stories on it. The graphics and presentation is very nice but the controls suck balls....! I haven't yet purchased my DS Lite but when i do I have five must buy games that i want to purchase at launch!

well i ve seen about 5 ads on channel four his morning for braintraining with chris tarrant doing the voice over. and lots of dalmatian and friends adds. channel 4 comedy seems to be sponsored by mp:h this week aswell.

Yeah I've seen loads of Brain Training ads, late at night that is.

There have been a crap load of ads recently, I've seen at least 2/3 a week and hopefully the reflected sales are showing Nintendo that ads really do make some difference!

Chris tarrent does the Brain Training ad. Nintendo cant stop advertising and it looks like it paying off cause the DS sales are amazing.

Final Fantasy IV is such a brilliant game!! It's such a shame Nintendo havn't tried to sell it properly in UK, I'm sure that if they tried to advertise the Final Fantasy series for GBA then it would grab a Square fan or two... Oh well, at least they do well in Japan, but I can't believe FFIV has just disappeared!!

It's great Chibi-Robo is back at no one, although still not too popular, but the DS is doing brilliantly, it gets better & better all the time! It's a Nintendo console to be proud of

Ive have seen so many DS adverts recently which are mainly new super mario bros.
The new super mario bros advert is so craply dubbed, who has a voice like the one in the Ad, certainly not the guy playing the DS.

Yeah... I've seen that, it's so horrible it's funny, but a guy is playing NSMB, & he's like "Yeah!!" But it sounds HOOOOOORRRIBBLLLEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have seen stupid amounts of Princess Peach and Nintendogs ads and quite a few brain training ads along witht the DSL and seen MPH ad once in the cinema when seeing X-Men(halle berry *drools*) and one tetris ad but no Mario ads but the japenese ad is class

There's nothing worse than the terribly dubbed Dalmatian advert Clearly made for Europe, but re-dubbed for the UK market.

Oh, and guess what? Good news is that since GAME is the ONLY place you can buy Super Monkey Ball Adventure for GC, it means there's plenty of stock! Today I went in and there were 12 GC copies, 12 PS2 and about 6 PSP

Weeeeell, I WAS under the impression it was launching on 30th June, same day as Super Mario Bros. DS...but they were in the store today. Unless they're just pre-order copies.

To be honest, I like Traveller's Tales, so am quite looking forward to how this turns out. After all, the team did a good job on Lego Star Wars.

I also noticed that in GAME today the DS has a far bigger self space than the PSP the tide is turning my nintendo amigos

I didn't see any copies in the shop, but they moved the GBA & DS sections to the front of the shop, & it's big, there are DSL posters & ads everywhere!!

BUT!!! They moved the GC section from it's old shelf into the 2nd hand bin, so now new & old GC games alike are mixed in the 2nd hand section

I also saw no copies of Chibi-Robo, FFIV or ToP!!!

More Tetris DS challengers!! YES!! Love that game.
