Okay, all rumours but the price delay one seems pretty logical an dthe downloadable films is interesting if not accurate. Could the wii hub be THAT wide ranging?

Hopefully downloadable films will make it to the final system. It does seem more likely to be a new game though.

I just can't see why you'd leap to the conclusion of "it's films11!!11lolroflmaowoot" when it could just as easily be a game.

How would you be able to download fimls with a puny 512 onboard flash memory? My guess is that thw Jurrasic park thing is just a game...

The price delay one, as Hazuki said, seems perfectly logical though...

Downloading films on Wii would be a bit poo, really, and Nintendo really isn't one to jump on the mulitmedia bandwagon now, is it?

I'm just wondering about what happened to Square-Enix's announcement about the Friends of Mana.

The movie thing is just total utter bollocks,
Other two seem fairly weak but meh who knows.

I could certainly see the system having downloadable movies, especially if you get a larger MB card or external hard drive (as these will be supported.) I don't know that it will be Nintendo's focus, but it would be cheap to provide the service, and WiiConnect24 would give Nintendo a major advantage in this space over 360 or Sony. Always on downloading? (Even in hibernation?) WHY NOT? Your movie is delivered overnight, at any bandwidth!

Trailers maby (although with opera cmbined with youtube I don't see the point) just whole movies are gonna be like 1GB at least?? You would have to keep erasing movies then redownloading them, then theres the fact not everyone will have big memory cards or HDD, somthin like this is not made for the wii.

The Jurrasic Park logo was probably a game, like everyone has said. Or maybe it's part of a DVD attachment promotion?

Nintendo have made the Wii all about the games, I doubt they'd want anything to do with that film downloading malarky. Smilie

Id actualy say movie downloads are very likely indeed.
The question is more if it would be nintendo or a third party that does it.

Seeing as the system is designed specificaly to download stuff overnight, and it already has a webbrowser, its all possible from a hardware point of view.

Of course, you will also need a codec/player of some sort, but the Wii is bound to have something like that at the very least to watch game trailers from.

So the question in my mind is merely if it will be Nintendo organising downloads, or if some third party will start a site doing it.

Nintendo has to have a micro-payment system in place anyway..so they would have an advantage if they did it.

But, on the other hand, its not Nintendos focus, so you might just get other websites doing it.

Remember: It dosnt even have to be made specificaly for the Wii, all it needs is to be made in a codec it can understand.

oh, and about space, its a non-issue.
Those that want to download movies, will buy bigger HD's or SD cards.
100Gig HD's are, like

i reckon its BS!!!

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

The download movies idea I feel is bollocks, good quality DivX still comes in at around 650MB+ for a movie and surely if they were going to downloadable movies Pokemon would be one of the first things you could download and not Jurassic Park.

Exactly my thoughts, exactly!

Very optimistic Smilie

Download films on wii? Not gonna happen...Movies are like 4 GB if you want DVD quality and i'm not buying cheap pirate quality movies

I have a movie DivX 1:22:21 700.16MB its very good quality wide screen!!!

As I recall isn't there plans for a fourth Jurassic Park movie (along side plans of a fourth Indiana Jones movie)? Downloading movies with our current speeds is just not practical. Besides, where in E3 where these "closed doors" that had Jurassic Park logos located? What relation does it have to the Wii if any?

That's what I thought, but meh... it just shows how bad some rumours can be.

System Shock? I heard nothing but praise from that series.

It has a healthy contigent of hardcore and casual fans alike, never played it myself but it'd be nice to have another big brand on Wii.

At E3 someone saw a Jurrasic Park logo at a section that was "behind closed doors". This may point to movie downloads through the Wii hub.

I seriously doubt that there will be Downloadable movies through the Wii, trailers possibly but not whole movies. The logo was probably a new game or something like that.

The price delay does sound realistic.

It can pretty much be garenteed that System Shock 3 won't be on Wii. It will be on PC, probably 360 and maybe PS3.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

Downloadable movies would certainly be cool, but then what's the point in the DVD add on? I reckon if it's done it'll prolly have fairly old movies, like Jurassic Park & such, but I still don't think it's true, sounds more likely to be another game...
