Very good, very good.
Good to know it's still on target for a worldwide release before Chrimbo
Am I the only one that finds this worrisome?
Autumn starts in September right? Can Nintendo really produce enough units for the EU/US/Japan in time for Xmas '06 with production starting in Autumn '06?
Sounds ominous.
Yet more evidence of a November-ish release. Kind of throws the recent July launch for Japan rumours in disarray, though, doesn't it?

I think that should be about perfect timing for things actually
It does sound like there cutting it a bit fine, but maby the fact it's so similer to GC helps. Or maby it's just common practice.

Afaik, Nintendo have never launched a console in the summer months. I could be wrong about that though. Nintendo NEEDS to launch for Xmas because this industry is heavily reliant on seasonal sales. Iwata himself has said that they need to launch Rev in time for Xmas in order to retain support from the retail industry.

It is cutting it fine, but that's exactly what they want. It's not healthy on the business to build up Millions months and months before they go on sale - get them out the factory and ready for sale.
I'm still sticking with my late September / early October Japan launch, late October / early November N.A. launch then Europe in late November. That should be fine for starting production around the start of September and getting around half a Million launch units ready for everywhere.
And as you say, the easy components will make things that much easier
That sounds doable.
What if demand goes through the roof (there'll be about 20 launch titles, not including the virtual console titles, so it's possible)?
Will 0.5 million be enough for each territory in the above situation?
Do be fair, how many of you actually know how long these chips will take to manufacture?
Depends on the type of chip...

ooooh, those look yummy!
To be honest I don't see you guys in Europe getting it till 07.
No i can see us get it in November like Nin10do said, i really think that Nintendo will get it out worldwide before the end of the year.
I'm convinced we'll get it this year, with plenty of evidence to support my analysis.
It's probably a bad thing to tell you the truth, because I'm leaving myself open to getting burned, but I can't change what information I have and the clear answer it gives me.
I just have to be positive and hope I'm right...
I hope so too!
We'll find out before too long methinks. Probably sometime after e3.
We'll get it this year, of that I'm almost certain. However, I think November might be too optimistic and it'll be December. Market it well and you've got the big Christmas seller, too...
I think the US will get it in November and Japan and the UK in December. Our holiday starts a bit sooner because we have Thanksgiving (not that we buy presents for Thanksgiving...but that's apparently what some businesses think).
As far as cutting it close, I think it's a matter of balancing how much it costs to mass produce them and having enough time to. The price of making consoles goes down over time, so the later they start the cheaper they are to make. That's just my logic behind it, I couldn't tell you for sure.

Despite everything said here, personallly I find it a bit surprising that the manufacturing starts in the "autumn", to feed all 3 regions in 2006. I 'tempted' to think europe gets revo in 2007 from that timing. But then again, they may be in a hyper mode now.
Having said that I'm sure they know what they are doing.
These are just memory chips, any eastern factory worth its salt will get this order done in less than a month. Nintendo probably have the mainboards, CPU, GPU and other parts already in production and they are just timing it so that all parts arrive at Nintendo's factories together so there's no waiting around for a single component.
a while a go when it was confirmed that the revolution wont have a simultaneous world wide launch didnt some nintendo person say that its likely the the launch will follow something similar to the DS launch where Europe would see the revo in Q1 2007.
No don't think so, iwata said they wern't doing a world wide launch just because everyone else is doing it.
It ws interpreted wrongly and people though it ment a more tradtional staggered launch.
