Not really, the console had stopped being manufactured but EA just wouldn't stop making games. By that point the dev kits were really cheap so games could be fired out quickly and cheaply.

Nope, they literally just finished producing PSone systems and games were quite constant, eleven year life.
The Atari 2600 went for fourteen.

ok, let me rephrase it.
that must be the longest span of time that a console has had games made for it.
and if you think about, it is console life. a kid buys a megadrive in 91. he will neer ever have enough money to buy another console ever again. he could play new games on his megadrive for 8 years.

14 years?? fucking hell.

*coughs*
Joking aside it certainly does give the PSone a run for its money, I certainly didn't realise it lasted so long...
Blade: World of Illusion?
Yep it was world of illusion

And that one! That game redefines the word 'Co-op'...
i used to have Quackshot with Donald Duck. is that game betetr? i very much doubt it.
Sure I had Quackshot but can't really remember.
Castle and World of Illusion were ace though
Quackshot is gay, didn't even have 2 player.
Global Gladiators - Awesome game!
Does anyone remember that game with Mickey and Donald, they had magic capes to defeat enimies.
YES! Kick ass game.
How about Speedball?

I want sonic 3 again, all three streets of rages, and ecco is a game i liked the look of, never got to play! Aladdin on the MD was a great classic as well never completed it though! I always remember that puking camel!
If Sega buck their ideas up and release a Mac/PC version of Shenmue as an MMORPG then I'd try it out. I remember seeing my cousin play the game and it seemed interesting to say the least,
I used to have Sonic 1-3, Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic 3D, Ristar, Streets Of Rage, Lemmings, Golden Axe and Toejam & Earl 2 and a few more which I can't remember.
Out of those only Streets Of Rage, Lemmings, Golden Axe and Toejam & Earl 2 I would want to buy because of Mega Collection. T&E2 had some cool Co-op
I actually remember renting Lion King, some Mickey game with Donald in a big castle and Bubsy 1 & 2. They were all ok.
As great as being able to play SEGA and Turbo Grafix games are, it seems to me a distraction from the fact that there have been practically nothing mentioned about upcoming titles made specifically for the Rev. That's what I'll be buying one for.

True, but that's not too far off. For now we've got a bunch of classic Sega/Nintendo/other retro developers to celebrate about!
Teh oh em gee bewbs sonic!
How about Speedball?
Hell yes, that'll be getting downloaded straight to my shiny black orgasm box (speedball 2, to be precise)

But a very nice distraction, to say the least...

Oh yeah, the sequel was fantastic. And glad to see someone else loves the black Revo. Hope white isn't the only colour...
Derrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrm
I think there was James Pond.
{Guild}Ohmdal: But how did you get the poo inside of the box when the goat was sleeping on top of it?
{Guild}Ohmdal: oops wrong chat
The NES was released in Japan in 1983, and continued til around 1995. Thats 12!
The Neo Geo was introduced in Japan in 1990 and the last Game to be published came out in 2004. That's 14 years, however it beats the Atari in the fact that it was supported throughtout it's lifetime by it's parent SNK.
Wikipedia:
The Neo-Geo's 14-year span of support from its manufacturer makes it the longest-lived arcade or home system, significantly longer-lived than either the Sega Naomi or the Capcom Play System 2.

yeah, and JPII Codename: Robocod, which I have fond memories of. After this thread I'm wondering if games were better back in the lovely SNES/MegaDrive days, or if I was just naive / easier to please
