First off this is a direct continuation from Mason's thread >> here << but due to the good and technical discussion going on I thought I'd make a new one.

Adding to that the sound bit I'll post in a second is a direct continuation for 2 mins from Mason's video.

http://www.optimalcamouflage.com/reggie_retail.wma

Reggie talks of how the Revolution is easily comparible to the competition, after showing the Metroid vid we saw yesterday, he also tells of how much easier, quicker and cheaper development be compared to PS3/360, and most interestingly he talks of IP at the end.

Nintendo plan to have new IP in the "launch window" of the Rev, and the way he mentions it the IP sounds comparible to the existing greats. Is this the new IP from Miyamoto, that would make a good start.

And right at the death he confirms (the news I've been waiting for) that Revolution games are in development as we speak, awesome. This is really looking good for an early 2006 launch, with the easy/quick development - added to Nintendo not wanting to miss the boat.

SSBM:R, MP3, new IP (maybe even Miyamoto's) and multiformat games - this is looking like the strongest Nintendo launch window in history!

just fro the curiosity, i've seen a lot of you guys say this IP word. What does IP stand for?

well thats good that the games will be quicker to mke and still cheap, and to be honest i dont care if the graphics are just a little bit more powerfull i just want a diffent way to play. Its also good news that the revolution might be going for a early 06 lanch thats great so if it is lanced then we should just get it about spring thats nice and this wont be good for the PS3.

Dont men to sound stupid but what u mean bye "IP"

Intellectual Property.

When Miyamoto cam up with Mario that was his IP, it means a new game/franchise Smilie

Awsome. Smilie

IP = Intellectual Property
in this case.

Metroid 3 and the new IP should be very good, but SSB:rev is just insanely exciting for a fan like me.

As I said in the "what makes a good game" thread, Miyamoto hit the "how to make a great game" nail on the head a long time ago, and hasn't stopped hitting it yet.

A "leaked" (pinch of salt time) advert:

Hopefully photobucket didn't shrink it.

Nice one - where'd you find that directly continuing clip? I wonder if there are more about...

As for the new IP, there are a few options in my eyes - it's going to be either A) Miyamoto's project (which you can all speculate about in my thread from last week if you want Smilie) B) Retro's new IP, the rumoured Xenias, providing Retro actually has a new game in development or C) a Camelot game. Why do I say Camelot? Well, where've they been for the past...age? Total pluck out of the air, but they could be working on something big...

Launch date - I'm honestly reckoning it's going to be released worldwide, not necessarily simultaneously, but out everywhere, by November 2006. They've already got their own games in development and I'm pretty certain they've got the likes of Sega, Square Enix, Bandai/Namco and Capcom beavering away at stuff, their trusted third parties - perhaps even EA have been given stuff. They may not have development kits yet, but I'd say they're doing preliminary work and know the features and could possibly be even working on basic engines on the Gamecube development kits, waiting for the Revolution kits so they can make them pretty. If the development times are as quick as they claim, it could be an extremely impressive launch even if they haven't let companies know til later on about their final specifications.

thx nin10do ill have a look now Thx again.

I hope we get an early launch in 2006! Nintendo don't want to be lagging behhind the PS3 and even further behind the X-360!

that is true we all know what happend to the GC it didnt to well but i love it dispite that and we all know whats happening to the DS with a early lanch there flying off the shelfs. I think nintendo have lerned from them both and they dont want to fall behind and they dont want to rush it. Like i said its not gonna be good for PS3 lagging behind.

Interesting advert...March would definitely fit into my idea of the American launch slot. Nice little dig at the XBox as well. I was thinking they'll actually do what they did with the DS, America first, Japan second, Europe a few months later.

Is that advert official?

Or did you make it up, nin10do?

It's supposedly leaked by Nintendo's marketing department. There's no way to determine it's truth or falsity as of yet, but '10do didn't make it up.

My thinking exactly.

We're all expecting details around August/September, and considering we had a prototype DS that was then remodelled and went on sale in as little as 6 months then March would fit perfect for the US, with pre-Goldenweek sales in Japan (booyah) in April then hitting Europe a few months later.

As Mason stated nope and nope.

But that is by far the most authentic ad I've seen yet, in fact with it's style/concept I'm willing to think that's official.

Just look at the style and presentation. That has Nintendo marketting all over it.

The of course is the reflection of the person taking the shot and the distortion - neither things you find in a photoshopped fake usually!

It's clever as well - it states to 'think outside the box' with 'Box' emphasised as in "get away from the XBox 360, wait for us", and also "stop thinking about conventions, things are changing". It's the most official looking thing we've seen since E3 IMO.

Where did you find the audio clip '10do?

Wooo, march. In time for my birthday.

The only thing i'm worried about is that ninty will release it in the same time as PS3 therefore chaining a war between the better machine.

Exactly mate, and Joystiq *shudders* - some commenter has the 600MB retail conference and is hoping to down size it to post. If he does you can be sure I'll post as much Smilie

Actually that would be an awesome thing.

Nintendo have great launches, that is a constant, as constant as the stars in the sky.

Now the early adopters who would pick up both do so, Nintendo 1 - Sony 0.

Next up people walk in store, the late adopters, and see two consoles - one $300 and the other $200.

What next games, well it's looking like Nintendo are pulling out all stops to have some greats at / around launch.

Casual gamers will even have roughly the same multiformat games on both, along with cheaper Hardware and Software, and things like MP3, SSBM and a game from "the guy who made Mario".

Nintendo 2 - Sony 0.

The ball is in Nintendo's hands, they just need to make it count now...

I might have to track down that conference myself, I'll grab at anything desperately if there's a chance for a smidge of new information in it. I'm having a huge next generation discussion with my friend right now and can't believe I'm more excited about Revolution than the other two, but it's this information hunting game that makes it all the more exciting to me as a gamer, rather than having it all laid out on a platter for me.
