Is the space between the two DS screens really that much of a problem. I have read several reviews and comments that it is to big and makes playing games difficult, but all the time I've been playing I have barely noticed it. So does anyone think these comments have some ground, or are they just a load of crap?

It's just people whining, or as you say, a load of crap. What confuses me though is when some games set the gap as technically 0 whereas others have the gap.

Cant say its really distracted me or taken away from the experiance. Its a bit like split screen gaming after while you don't even notice it untill some one points it out.

If there wasn't a gap, it would be one screen....

It's fine, just people trying to make things sound worse than they actually are.

I found it really irritating at first but after a while you get used to it.

I haven't noticed it Smilie . Too little a gap would be confusing, they're perfectly placed IMO.

I never notics the gap, even in the split screen FMVs. Just people trying to drive the DS into the ground.

Well,if you watch the Metroid Video on the demo. A small part of Samus is cut out, however this is intentional.
Then, on Wario Ware, on Mike's boss stage where the top screen ends the bottom starts. Therefore, acting like one screen. So there is no problem at all with the screens.

It doesn't bother me any. Load of crap.

It also happens on YT&G when enemies go from one screen to the other and it doesn't affect it at all. One big screen would probably be more annoying.

Get ready for someone to burst in and call us Nintedno fanboys becuase we're sticking up for the DS...Smilie

It doesn't bother me at all. Unless your playing Super Mario 64 on the Koopa Shell Smash minigame and a shell is right in between the two screen s and can't see it. That's annoying, but a very uncommon occurence.

There are certain games on Wario Ware that wouldn't work without the gap...

It dosn't bother me, I actually like it more, mostly the two screens display 2 sets of information, or view the action from 2 different angles - its so much more useful than having 1 screen and it can really make you feel close to the action.

Admitedly I found it a tad annoying, maybe if you could unfold the top screen to join up with the bottom....would that work?

Dosen't bother me at all, just people whining about the DS.

I dunno about the gap... but my hinges seem to be getting extremly weak. I'm a tad worried.

Don't worry, they're bound to loosen up as time goes by - Nintendo consoles are renowned for their reliability, don't forget.

Yeah, I'm sure you're right. Smilie

Dosn't matter, I'll be getting 'whitey' in not too long. Smilie Smilie

Playing Yoshi's Touch and Go can be a bit confusing at times, but that's probably because I've only actually played it properly a few times.

I don't care about the gap at all. It seems to work well, and I don't think it would have been quite as good if they were closer together, this was the touch screen and the top screen are clearly distinguished from each other so you're not going to attack the top screen with your stylus by accident (most of the time).

I can notice it, but when I'm in the middle of playing a game it isn't a problem, it is very rare for it to cause a problem for me.

Hmm..my hinges seem to be getting weaker too...

How do you guys hold it while your playing? They may be getting weaker becuase of the way I hold it...

Well, the only game I've got so far is mario, and seeing as I play it with the Stylus, holding it really isn't an option.

I'd start worrying if it doesn't click into place anymore.

*gulp*

I've not had any problems with the gap, and WW, M64 and Polarium all rely heavily on both of them so I certainly wouldn't call it a problem in the slightest.

How do I hold it? Usually with my left palm flat across the middle of the back with the thumb supporting at the bottom and my right pinky resting up the right hand edge while using the sylus - I love it that way. Though somtimes it's just the normal way of left hand on the d-pad and right on the touch screen (M64 Dual Hand mode).
