Bandai Namco Considers Wii-Arcade Link-Up

By Adam Riley 25.03.2008 1

Bandai Namco may not be best pleased that Wii is detracting attention from the arcades, but if you cannot beat them, join them it seems! Rather than simply criticising the most popular console in Japan and leaving it at that, thanks to the closing of sixty arcade centres due to lack of popularity in the face of Wii fever, the company has done a bit of a U-turn.

It appears that to try and capitalise on the Wii's success, Namco's arcade division is set to create new arcade games that not only grab people's attention, but also link-up with Wii, so that data can be exchanged betweeen the two. Whilst no specifics have been revealed just yet, the prospect sounds extremely similar to what was done with the Tri-Force arcade board and the GameCube, a venture that indeed included Namco in its development.

Oooh interesting, F-ZERO XXX ???

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562
