Nanostray 2 Launches in US on Nintendo DS

By Adam Riley 11.03.2008 8

The long awaited space shooter from Shin'en has finally hit the US, courtesy of Majesco Entertainment:

"A challenging new 3D shooter returns to Nintendo DS this week as Majesco Entertainment today shipped Nanostray 2. Developed by Shin'en, Nanostray 2 combines classic arcade shooting action, spectacular graphics, new game modes and a variety of bosses to keep gamers consistently playing their DS.

"Shin'en has pushed the graphical capabilities of the DS to create an outstanding action shooter that looks as good as it plays. Considering how few shooters are available on DS, Nanostray 2 stands out that much more as a high quality offering that fans of the genre can't afford to miss."
- Gui Karyo, Executive Vice President of Operations, Majesco.

A top-down, sci-fi shooter, Nanostray 2 features six game modes, including two-player co-op, two-player vs., Challenge (with 30+ different missions) and the brand new Simulator (go high-score hunting in four futuristic mini games). With both horizontal and vertical viewpoints that offer more variety between levels, Nanostray 2 also includes multiple control schemes and configurable weapons that are a necessity to defeat the game's 16 formidable bosses and 100 unique enemies. In addition, players can upload their scores via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection to see how they rank against the best on http://www.Nanostray2.com.

Nanostray 2 is now available for $29.99...

This sounds like a great sequel and I have been very impressed with the videos posted previously.

$29.99...

What is full price on DS games in the US?, to rub salt into the wound. I pay 40 for most my imports and I think 10 more is a small price to play for getting some titles early.

I wonder if I can get a US import copy at a reduced price, I would have to as I already waiting on Gaiden.

You've getting ripped off big time.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

Woah, that's pretty darn pricey Smilie I've imported a few DS titles from the US in the past, through some reputable ebay sellers - got Metroid Prime Hunters for 20 a few years back, couple delivery.

I'll be snatching this up as soon as I see it. If that takes too long, I'll just have to order it off Amazon.com or something...

Of course, that's just an opinion.

Two player support is always nice. Loved the first Nanostray so I'll most certainly be playing this one.

Well this is through a small indie shop I like going to. I don't see how a extra 10 for brand new US games is that bad at all, unless you know of somewhere far cheaper? Did you get Hunters at that price when it was brand new just released in the US?.

Importing games is usually cheaper these days, even including shipping. As long as you don't get stung by tax .

Games cost almost half as much in the US/Japan/Asia and the dollar is worth nothing at the moment.

Try 'the internet'.
