Nintendo Wii Media | Smash Update: Mushroomy Kingdom

Today's update on the Official Smash Bros. website reveals a new level to chug through, a moving replica of the famous Mario 1-1 level!

Ah, the Mushroom Kingdom. Most Smash players recognize this place from previous games in the series, where the world was represented in a pixel-art style reminiscent of the original Super Mario Bros.

But why the "y" on the end of "Mushroom"? What's the difference?

Oh, so that's why!

This time around, we've designed a stage that recreates the layout of World 1-1 in Super Mario Bros.

I hope there is an option to play the Stage in old school mode 8Bit style!! Smilie

Nice. Love the remake of this level, as opposed to the standard pixel look Smilie Glad it loves slowly too, gives some room to brawl and some nice background-scenery to boot!

I wish they gave this kind of makeover to the classic Melee/64 stages tho

Whoa, I first thought: "another Mario stage...?" but once I understood what it was, I was amazed. I loooooooooove it, and the music is awesome too.

Awesome. Why didn't they think of this earlier?? There must be millions of people who recognize this stage.

I think it will be the first stage to play on when I show the game to friends.

Yeah this level is great. I was waiting for them to create a moving level moving only sideways since that was my favorite part of Rainbow Cruise in Melee. Don't bring up Big blue thats a great level also, but it feels more like the level is moving around you rather than you moving through it.

Sweet update,I love the idea of an underground stage as a random alternitave. I wish world 1-1 was in its original grassy green glory,rather than being all deserty...Smilie
