Nintendo News | Zelda, Paper Mario, Boogie to Tour Australia

By Jorge Ba-oh 05.09.2007 10

Nintendo of Australia has announced a nationwide Wii event, the Wii Connection Tour '07 - Big Brains for games, traveling across the land with some top Wii and DS software - from the likes of Super Paper Mario, Wii Sports, Boogie and more.

They'll also be a special Metroid Prime 3 demonstration and various other surprises in store. Various DS titles, including the Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, Brain Training and Picross DS, will be available to test out.

The event is set to run in various shopping centres, allowing gamers to enter competitions to be part of a draw to win a Wii and a copy of Big Brain Academy.

So is Metroid not coming out here for a while?

9 cities counts as a nationwide event? It's a pretty big country.

26/10 as far as I'm aware. That's just a general 'PAL' date so take it with a pinch of salt.

Oh really? That's not far at all.

November 2007 apparently for Metroid 3... Smilie

Yay more tours, great fun. I'll be at (hopefully) the Carindale one. Smilie

It's good to see Nintendo focusing in on the GameCube weakest market more with the Wii, not as if the Wii isn't pwning the PS3 and 360 anyways.

Nintendo are ignoring middle earth why? Probably because them nasty orcs live there........

Tasmania doesn't count as part of the nation? We are a small island (about half the size of England) with a small population (1/2 million), but damn that sucks. That strip of water to the mainland - Bass Strait - really isolates us.Smilie

    Temporarily banned until further notice.

^Nor does the Northern Territory. The thing that really annoys me is that it's always those cities. Every single time. You can look at the last half dozen 'tours' Nintendo have done in Australia and you'll see a near identical list.

^^ Being ex-Melbourne, I can tell you that the city is huge. Both those stops are in the south-east (where I used to live and where Nintendo head office is - generally speaking). What about the massive shopping centres in the west, north and east?

    They could try harder.

    Melbourne > Sydney

Arg, so this has a *much* better showing then the Lipzieg games conferance did then?

Seriously, all they had to play there was WiiFit and WiiSports.

No Paper Mario, or Phantom Hourglass.
    -sigh-

Why isnt europian gamers allowed to see stuff thats been released elsewhere even at shows :?
    Its just silly.
