By Adam Riley 03.09.2007 10

Quick News - Following the initial revelation of Cave shmup 'Ketsui' being considered for DS, Mihara-san of Afrika has confirmed a video and first details should be revealed this coming Friday, if they can get everything done in time.

The DS answer to Ikaruga? Maybe not, but still an interesting prospect...check out prototype footage from back in July for some insane action:

The DS is a great handheld for these types of games (out of the choice of two handhelds, but still...) so I hope this comes into fruition. Some news is better than no news, anyhow!

Well, Cave has brought a bunch of its shmups to mobile phones in Japan, so I don't see why this won't go ahead...That video looks crazy!! Smilie

Oh, and you have to remember that Ketsui was originally meant to be ported to the PS2, but Afrika (the team behind Forever Blue on Wii) didn't think the platform was powerful enough to handle the game. Then there was a falling out with Sony over the matter...and now it's coming to DS...strange, huh?

That's immense!

I am very glad to see Cave bringing it to the DS =). I haven't played it yet [only available in Japan and no rom T_T], but I'm confident since Cave usually makes very good manic shooters.

Cave is really overrated. Let's see if Ketsui is really as good as these high-brow shoot 'em uppers in Japan claim. Thank goodness there's no region-locking for the DS.

Of course, that's just an opinion.

OMG! How hard did that game look! I like shoot'em'ups but that looked stupidly hard.

I wish Konami would do an Axelay sequel. Remember the SNES game, anyone? When you completed it, and the credits had rolled, it said 'See you in Axelay 2!'.

I demand a sequel! Smilie

W....T......F...... That looked beyond hard...that was insane - and the person playing it looked awesome - avoiding bullets that like filled 90% of the screen...yet...he couldn't win...and i suck at these side scrolling/vertical scrolling shooters...

I bought that on the day it launched I liked that strange effect they had going but the game was far to easy. I remember that. This game looks great, just the sort of thing for a Ikaruga master like myself Smilie.{LS]
