The latest edition of the IGN podcast feature 'Wii-k in Review' has now gone live and below are some of the key highlights from what was quite a quiet show in terms of news compared to previous editions. Thanks to demure for the summary:
- Matt thinks Free Radical will support Wii and believes many developers will switch from PS3 to Wii;
- IGN does not know what is going on with Battalion Wars II or Disaster for Wii. Matt was almost positive BWii would be at the Games Convention in Leipzig;
- The team wonder why there has been no headset revealed for BWii and believe one is in the works;
- Talk of a a God-game coming to Wii pop up again and details on this, and several other unmentioned games, might be coming soon;
- Will we see F-Zero on Wii in 2008? The team reckon 'no way'. As for Wave Race, though, that is definitely a 'maybe';
- They speculate over whether or not developers will be able to out-do the sublime Metroid Prime 3 controls, coming to the conclusion of 'yes, eventually'. They also think Free Radical would be a 'good candidate' to do this;
- Hopefully the developer of 'that' God-game will be announced soon;
- Surprisingly the much-vaunted Metroid Dread (2D Nintendo DS project that has been AWOL since 2005) gets a mention, with them stating there is nothing they 'can talk about...YET.' They then state something cool will be shown on Monday night and Bozon says it is 'kind of a wink to the fans.' It is stressed that this is definitely not a confirmation that the game is coming, just something cool;
- Factor 5 is bringing its GameCube middleware tools over to the Wii and Crytek is busy at work on the system;
- Also, IGN is getting a lot of calls from Publishers to play games. There is a lot of Wii activity right now.
