By Jorge Ba-oh 24.02.2007 13

Eidos have released a selection of shots from the upcoming Touch the Dead first person shooter for DS, as players go head to head with sinister zombie creatures in a bid for freedom.

Touch the dead is an interactive FPS designed for the DS, and follows a similar concept to other survival horror titles in the genre. Rob Steiner, a sole survivor in a zombie-filled jail equips himself with some weaponry and attempts to break out by rekilling everything in his path.

A few gruesome shots that'll bound to give you a nightmare or two...

A selection of other shots can be found in the game's album below.

It's not an FPS, you just stand there and shoot like an idiot. It's house of the dead, set in some corridors because that's all their crappy engine can draw. Great.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

Touch the dead is an interactive FPS

I thought the whole point of games were that they're interactive....

Avoid Games Like the Plague, productivity++

This was the one were you tap the dead, right?

I'll stick to other games.

It's an on-rails shooter, similar to how House of the Dead plays. We've got an interview with the developer set to go live in the next few weeks, so watch out for that Smilie

My friends complain that this looks like Doom.

That means it has crap graphics. Smilie

It takes a developer with alot of $ to make a good FPS/on rails shooter, for example Nintendo or SEGA. Even Nintendo's MP Hunters is with major drawbacks despite being the DS's best FPS.

Mike Gee of iZINE said, "...The Verve, as he [Richard Ashcroft] promised, had become the greatest band in the world. Most of the critics agreed with him. Most paid due homage. The Verve were no longer the question mark or the clich. They were the statement and the definition."

I still think the name of this game is shocking. It just sounds so...distasteful :/

this is Dead n Furious, right?

Atleast the hand looks better than the one in far cry vengeance

It looks OK!

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

It looks really poor actually. It looks like an FPS version of Deadly Silence, and I remember that receiving a critical panning.

Screwing the rules since 1989.

Despite some of the negative aspects, I have to say, it looks fun. Smilie I guess I'm saying that because I am in need of a good FPS game... I NEED TO SHOOT SOMETHING!
