God damn it, thought it was Donkey Kong by CAPCOM being developed for Wii, near crapped myself.

Still good news though. At least the DK is in good hands.

Don't we all, as well as a new 3d and 2d Donkey Kong.

Got to love the kong.

I thought Jungle Beat was a fantastic game, but it wasn't Donkey Kong. It was a crazy, fun platformer with crazy characters and crazy worlds.

Donkey Kong, for me, is Donkey Kong Country. A friendly, nature loving Donkey Kong, blasting from barrel to barrel, riding minecarts, climbing pirate ships, exploring eerie, dimly lit mineshafts, and sticky bee hives!

I want either a 3D or a 2D sequel to Donkey Kong Country on the Wii is what I want. Imagine what the pointing functionality of the remote could do for barrel blasting and tag team abilities. And with Squitter, you could aim webs at walls, allowing you to climb up them.Smilie

Imo, Jungle Beat was actualy pretty close to DKC dispite the controll.

Seriously, the platform layout and style of the levels, as well as the music was serious old school.

Some very original levels too, I might add.

Jungle Beat was great fun, although it was too short. Still, it had stuff to unlock after the "final" boss, which wasn't eally the las, if I remember correctly. DK64 was a great platformer, I still haven't finished it, I'm on the last boss(es).

Completely agreed. The gameplay was fantastic, and I loved the combo system.

But in ways of character, world, and music, it wasn't Donkey Kong Country. And the only returning gameplay element from DKC were the animal buddies, but none of them were the classic animal buddies. Why did they have to replace Enguarde, or Rambi, or Squawks? Why couldn't they have used DKC characters and locations? Dixie Kong or Diddy Kong?

Plus, the character and world designs were more suited for a Wario or Mario game than a Donkey Kong game. And the music didn't suit for me, either. DKC's music was always atmospheric, and sometimes downright eerie.

I don't know - that's just me, I guess.

I was ecpecting some news about Capcom making a game for Wii.... Smilie anyway hooray for DK... didnt know they are still making arcade games of it!

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

Donkey Kong Jungle Beat is Donkey Kong Country + Pure molten fun... Definitely one of my favourite GC games. I want another one ;-;

On a more related note, anyone have any idea what the hell this game is about? It looks kinda like a slot machine or something >_>
