Nintendo Wii Media | Far Cry Vengeance Screens

Ubisoft have released a selection of shots from the upcoming Far Cry update for the Wii - from the depths of the jungle to a large military complex, the shooter makes an action packed entrance on Nintendo's Wii.

Although these screens have been seen in scans of printed magazines recently, they have been released to the web press for all to see. The game combines elements of the past entries in the franchise with all new Wii-specific tools, moves and design. A worthy addition to the Christmas list or something that'll be shadowed by bigger Wii names?

Hmm, a bit tacky and seems a litte rushed - some of these screens look utter shite but others aren't *too* bad, hmm, maybe worth a rental at first.

Well it looks loads better than the call of duty wii screens that were released. They graphics look ok...and whats wrong with the guys hand in the 3rd pic!?!?!?

And IMO I think it will be shadowed by bigger names.

I think those screens were very, very old. Recent hands-on in-house and independant reviews proved the game looking quite decent (compared to the N64-style shots we had, and in conjunction with the better PS3 / 360 verion), and from various reports CoD3 is looking like a pretty good Wii game.

Don't know much about FC: V, but I'd hope the same is true here Smilie

Hmm, I think these FC screens are very close to completion - probably touching up here and there, finalising things for launch.

Like most launch games that were rushed to meet deadlines it should be okay, but not amazingly great - unless, by some miracle, it's pulled off.

Then again I shouldn't judge it by these screens alone - need to see and play it in action first. Far Cry for Xbox was good, but the controls really got me annoyed - hopefully they'll be fine tuned for the Wii.

As much as I am happy that Ubisoft is put their heart and soul in supporting Wii... but they are spreading themselves thin and thus the games over all quality is suffering. FarCry should be delayed till next year.

Ubisoft already have a possible AAA game in Red Steel for launch. Why rush FarCry out when it needs some serious polish and for the love of GOD... online play. Red Steel doesn't have that option. DELAY DELAY DELAY and make this games a must have... not a rush job.

Some of the screens are just plain old "fugly" others are pretty decent. Whether Nintendo liketh it or not even the least graphics driven gamer to some extent considers graphics important because it visually presents the game and this is nowhere are beautiful as the XBOBX version. Let's just hope it plays better.

I'm actually looking forward to how it controls rather than how it looks. Well, i think i'm immune to bad graphics (except if i go play a PS1 game again).

The words GameCube graphics will do me, these guys know their gaming and would call the game out if the quality was that of the terrible screens we saw (re: CoD 3).

As for these screens, Christ knows why Ubi even released them - or indeed Treyarch and the crappy CoD shots - but any rational person knows the finished versions will be better.

It does kind of look mage crappy. Reminds me a lot of Quake 2 graphics.

Not really that impressed by it at all.

I know the Wii is not as powerful as the others but this is just lazy.

SO much better than the original ones. It still looks like they're too focused on making things APPEAR when they're far away, and not actually making them look good.

And Grumbler, I thought the arm looked pretty good compared to the old shots. The texture on the gun looks terrible though...

Looks alright to me, don't know what you nerds are complaining about. Anyway, the best thing about FarCry is by far the fucking awsome map-making tool. I spend many, many hours on that. More than the game, actually.

The Map Maker is the only reason you'd play FarCry for more than a week, and it adds a whole new dimension to the multiplayer.

Okay fair enough, the Wii FarCry is gonna be shit.

Overall those screens are fine.

But the textures on that gun look like they've been taken from an enemy's gun in a Dreamcast game, not your own gun that you have at the fron of your screen in a game on a console that is more powerful than the Xbox.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

Seriously! this game is looking incredibly detailed and get's better everytime I see it. The only fault I can find with the graphics is the gun but hey it's only a gun.
