Nintendo News | UK Wii Packshot Unveiled

Fancy seeing what to pick up in December? Nintendo UK have released the near final packshot for the Wii in the UK in all its white boxy glory, Wii Sports included. Our UK Nintendo rep sent over the Wii goods to brighten up a dull Friday morning.

Packing may vary slightly when the Wii hits retail.

Stick with C3 for future Wii updates..

Mmmm. Can't wait to pick this up come Decmber 8th. You know the packaging looks really ipodesque in design. Even without the obvious heavy advertising via tv newspapers, billborads etc that's going to be used, the beautiful simplicity of the package design will be eye catching particularly to non gamers and reel them in by the thousands.

The 7+ could be for Wii sports. I seam to remember (but maybe dreaming it) that the original DS had 12+ on the box because of the Metroid Hunters demo.

As for the box, another one for my extensive set of boxes of boxes of boxes - I store console boxes inside each other to save space because I have quite a few. Maybe this one will fit inside my Xbox box... really I'm not bothered about the box, I'm sure no-one buys consoles based entirely on the box.

You are indeed correct about the 12+ rating on the DS box, it's on the top edge rather than the front view on Wii - first I'd seen of it when I checked two seconds ago.

Yeah, the 360 box has a U on it too. But it didn't come with any games, just the stuff loaded on the Hard Drive, and you can't really give music an age rating can you, now? (Apart from Parental Advisory, obv)

It's 7+ because of the boxing game. Parents in the UK don't give 2 shits about age ratings lower than 18, so it makes no difference.

We've (UK) got our own one too. PEGI. ESRB is the US one.

Weve (UK) got our own one too. PEGI. ESRB is the US one.

Nah, PEGI is used around most of Europe. Its the BBFC ratings that we've got to ourselves. You know, like PG and 15 and what have ya Smilie
